To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand RCR. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of American Literature most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Mr Regular's Modernist outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation. his personal philosophy draws heavily from John Dewy's writing, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike RCR truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Mr Regular’s existential catchphrase “Which Ford is Best Ford,” which itself is a ironic critique of Marx's theory of Alienation. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as The Roman's genius wit unfolds itself on their phone screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂

Just saying, I have crossed shopped the is350 and chosen the G37S every time over it. I currently have an ISF and love it. IS350 is in a weird place where it looks like the common slow IS250, and is far more boring to drive than a 6 speed G37. The aftermarket is better, the driving dynamics are better, the looks and interior are as well. Much nicer backseat and manual ftw. I'm not asking you to buy it to get my approval lol. Feel free to check my channel if you like for my car vids.

This IS350 is deff the car you get once you grow up from rice burners, want to be an adult with a bit of luxury and still have some great performance and dependability. I bought a 2001 Honda Prelude manual and spent like 5g in after market upgrades when I was 21 in 2003. I rocked that car throughout my 20s. But once I hit 30, I grew up and wanted a good reliable fast car that was inline with a 30yr old. So, I got a used 2007 IS350 in 2010 for a great price from a dude who was upgrading to an LS 460. Basically, he didn't have room in the garage for both cars and I was offering more in cash than he would get for a trade in. I can honestly say, the IS350 is fast, reliable, and it does look good. It rides smooth and looks better than 80% of the cars on the road. The only people that have nicer rides have spent alot more. Essentially, I own my IS350 for like 11k since 2010 and it still kicks ass in performance, looks good, feels comfy (although, as this review points out, it is lacking on interior space), and makes a grown man feel like he has a chill car (as grown men should) but also with power to get up and go. The average car on the road is not better than an IS350, period, even an '07 350.

IS300 was a good car. The redesign with the 250/350 line at the time was very striking looking. The cars definitely looked like sport sedans and turned heads. Now their looks are muted because everything "extreme sport" looks like a cheap aftermarket body kit that OEM is using on Camry's. The IS350 was a good sport coupe - a 4 door 2 seater. Eh, ok - so not so good. The 3 Series it was up against had slightly better rear seat room - but this car was for the professionals who "made it" but didn't yet have kids. Just coworkers to impress. Showing up to work in a new IS350 would have raised some eyebrows. Even today - drive around in a clean looking IS350, and it looks like you have your stuff together. A responsible adult with an adventurous side.

I bought an IS because BMW 3-series cars are a dime a dozen where I live, and I find the Mercedes C-class kinda boring on the outside. It's nice on the inside, but not enough to justify the relative price tag. Plus, with the Lexus you can still get a naturally aspirated six cylinder, which sounds fantastic (especially compared to the four poppers in most of its comparably-priced competition). Oh and something something reliability something bulletproof engine

I owned this car. Your TOO hung up talking about the Lexus brand and badge more then the actual car dude. This car is a sport sedan don't be fooled. I had no idea the car was that good until I brought one. 0-60 fastest time tested was 4.9 seconds faster then all other sedans in its class when this car came out. It was a rocket. Beating out the v8 S4 Audi at the time. This IS350 sent BMW back to the drawing board and they came back with the 335i turbo because the IS350 destroyed the 330i back in 2006. This car was ahead of its time and still is a great hidden value on the market for a luxury performance sedan. I also disagree heavily on that it looks like nothing. One he could of washed the car before this review of it. Two the exterior for a car that came out in 2006 still looks new today. I had a sliver one black interior everyone thought my 2006 IS350 was a 2012 and up. Granted I kept the car super clean. I brought it with 150k and the car drove like it was brand new. Let me review this car next time.

I live in Europe and own a 2006 IS220d which is a diesel version that also comes with a manual only. It's RWD, no AWD option for the diesel, and being a diesel it is a lot more sluggish. It's only around 177 bhp (when new, and now it feels a lot more like 140) but it shares the engine with a Toyota Avensis, which makes any potential engine servicing cost insanely cheap and most any mechanic around here knows how to handle this car and won't bill you into oblivion for it. I'm the second owner, my dad sold it to me when he upgraded. I grew up on this car. It been in the family for 13 years which is half my life, and boy is it just... A prvilage. You don't pay attention to the small details of it, how nice it rides, how quiet it is, how direct the steering feels, how tidily it holds corners... but then you go and drive your friends beater or your uncles or brothers car and there's just... something off with each of them. The Lexus doesn't wow me when I daily it at all. It feels kind bland and unremarkable, but then you get in it for the first time in a while after being forced to drive something else and... *then* it wows. You don't appreciate what you have until you lose it. My Lexus doesn't feel like the best car I've ever driven... but in those moments, I'm reminded that it is. It feels like home. When I remember how good it is, it puts a smile on my face. You can't pick a finger on it, but whenever I, any of my friends or family get a choice of which car to take, everybody always just silently ends up picking the Lexus. It's been a part of my life for so long I take it for granted, and I've long since stopped taking care of it, but it has a certain grace to it, like a battle scarred Vietnam veteran. It ain't pretty with the scratches on the bumper, with the misaligned panels here and there, with the broken corner light... But you sure as shit won't be able to call it ugly. Because it isn't. When you get this car to look its best, it looks damn sexy. And no matter how much I beat on it, how much I abuse it, how much I don't take care of it... It continues to carry itself with th determination. A kind of perseverance that is likely the last of its kind. New cars don't have this quality anymore. They're not timeless anymore. They're too focused on fads and popular in the moment gimmicks. The era of cars that stay in the family for decades and generations is over. Now you just regurgitate year to year iterations and models by leasing them for a year and dumping them for the new hot stuff as soon as it's available. I have huge respect for my car. It will forever be a part of my life even long after it's gone, because it gave me an incredible platform to learn on, to fail on, to come back to at the end of a hard day and just simply... *enjoy*the ride home.

If you think that rides rough just imagine what mine feels like. I've actually been patiently waiting for someone on youtube to review this car because it is a sleeper. Racing from a dead stop is where it shines, those 255 tires in the back grip and put power down so well that it actually allows you to beat 350z's,accord v6's, older mustangs, untuned bmw's, etc.

I own a tuned 06 IS350. It may not be sporty in stock form, and the body may be plain and simple by today’s standards. But with a nice lip kit and some decent wheels the car is still a head turner. Plus with a tune this things rips on G37’s, G35’s, 350z’s, WRX’s, etc. And it gets 30mpg while being very low maintenance. Great car for a daily driver. And if you want “sporty” just get some RR Racing parts and you got a car that equals or beats the E46 M3

@EatMyAK7 жыл бұрын
Koen Harrison Yes the 2GR-FSE is the 3.5L in the IS350. The 4GR-FSE is the 2.5L in the IS250 and didn't come with duel injection.

EatMyAK is right. Other direct injection motors from this era suffer from carbon buildup leading to sticky valves, running rich, and a loss of compression in extreme cases.

It also allows the engine to operate safely under a larger range of situations. SO you can run cheap rotgut fuel in them and not blown the engine. You get a much better cold start emissions, since the catalytic system heats faster and can start doing it's job that much sooner. Then since you can control both sets of injectors independently, you can offer a fair amount of performance while still being able to off a good return on fuel economy. Everything about a dual injection system is a win (well maybe not cost or complexity).

I wouldn't take the 2007 IS350 over an old RSX or an old civic. This feels....clean and "executive" where fun is allowed but a corporate party amount of restrained fun. The sorta party that you can't go all out on because your boss is there.

I always thought it was a testament to Toyota's marketing team that within less then five after making it's debut, the Lexus moniker was so highly regarded by the likes of Raekwon the Chef that not only does he reference the brand on the second track of 36 Chambers, as Mr. Regular points out, but also name drops it on on the 5th track of that album and twice two years later on his classic debut solo effort, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx...

I bought an 07 IS250 with a manual a month ago and I absolutely love it. I've never loved a car this much. Of course it's not as fast as the IS350, but it's plenty fast enough, reliable, handles like a BMW, has a comfortable and timeless interior, looks sharp, eats highway miles with no effort, and these days, they're not expensive. It's the best used car value right now, and it's not just my two cents saying so, it's my several thousand dollars. If anyone is on the fence about what to buy and you like the style, get one of these.

LOL but remember in the early 2000's Toyota had the BMW 3 series and Mercedes S-Class tattooed to the inside of their eyelids. End product: 2007 Lexus IS350 and the (VERY comfortable, extraordinarily advanced for the time and very fast for it's class) Lexus LS460. My Stepdad went to the Lexus Dealer in September of 2006 right before the LS460 was out and he placed an order for a 2007 rear wheel drive, 'short' wheelbase model with heated and cooled seats, heated steering wheel, nav, bluetooth streaming, voice control, back up camera, 360 degree parking sensors, soft close doors, rear windshield power sun shade and self parking (the thing fuckin drove itself in 2006 as a 2007 model year, it was nuts). Other than that and some floor mats he kept the options down: it had the 16 or 17 inch wheels smallest wheels availavle and rode very well because of it, no massaging recling back seats or premium sound. it was rear wheel drive, short/regular wheelbase and normal suspension (i think air suspension was an option he didnt get.) Anyway this thing was fast and had an 8 speed buttery smooth automatic with paddleshifters i believe, we got stuck between two logging trucks going their top speed on our way into Maine one night and one was precariously swaying back and forth a little bit, so he dropped a few gears and floors it, we were doin maybe 80-85 at the back by the time we passed em both we were doing over 125 mph, still rode more comfortably than anything I've been in to this day and the acceleration from the 365hp 4.6 liter V8 came on strong and made a sonorous roar that satisfied over and over again. anyway The bushings in the IS350 probably are similar to the BMW's in where they need changing every now and again. Seeing as he had an out headlight for the video, implied that he does burnouts and drifts in it I'm guessing he doesn't realise or know that they need changing because if those were fresh then there wouldn't be ride comfort complaints.

This is the same idea of the Cadillac CTS. As a 2006 CTS owner I can verify that while the 3.6L LY7 V6 in the CTS makes 50 less horse (though the CTS starting in 2008 hit the 300 mark), it gets up and goes plenty quick to have a bit of fun. EDIT: Though, the CTS can take 87 without knocking.
