the stainless steel rack over the cooker is for pots and pans. it is meant to be higher and you hang your pots and pans under it with hooks. We had one in a house my wife hated it as she is small and could not reach it lol :)

I reckon I could stick me socks on them metal bars and then turn on the extractor to get rid of the stink. I think it looks like a pots and pans shelf to be honest, but a very strange place to stick it.
