I stumbled upon another reason why the AC quit. BEFORE you assume it's the clutch after checking the fuse, CHECK the 15A fuses for the blower motor under the dash on the driver's side. One of mine cooked while I was driving and smelled to high heaven. the smell is what saved me as it smelled when I pulled the cover off. ALSO, make sure you get the right fuses. It takes "Low Profile Mini Fuses" in that block. The idiot before me put mini fuses in by forcing them into the fuse block. I'm sure it had something to do with the fuse shorting out.

Question was your ac still blowing ? Even though the fuse blew

@@bassarcade424 I don't think so. It's been a minute.

Hello. My mechanic just vacuumed and charged my a/c. It cools good. However my clutch does not stop turning as long as my a/c is on. It stops when I turn off the a/c. When I tested this, the temperature setting was on 50%, just at the middle, and it was evening so not too hot weather. I waited around 5-10 minutes and the clutch did not stop turning. It was cold in the car but not very cold. When I turned the temperature switch to max, the air from the vents went colder. So the a/c temperature control system (probably some kind of thermostat) works properly. The only problem is that the clutch does not stop turning which increases the a/c gas pressure too much so it leaks out of the system. What’s the problem? How to fix?

Seems simple but limited room and nearly impossible allen bolt to get out. May wanna go ahead and hire a shop for this. I wish I had!

Thought it was just 4x 12mm housing bolts, 2x 10mm bolts for the H/L pressure lines and a 2 wire connection?

if the compressor is not engaging and it has power to it then its the magnet coil

Same situation for me but I’m getting no power to it. But when I test run power to it from battery the compressor kicks in.. I don’t know what to do now because it’s not getting power
@AN-kg4ei5 жыл бұрын
@@calvincristobal3234 low pressure switch or a fuse/relay I would bet... you can jump the low pressure switch temporarily and if that kicks on the clutch/AC compressor, you might have low refrigerant or a bad low press switch....

Hello I have an A/C issue with my 2010 Altima. Compressor clutch stays engaged all the time and the A/C does not cool down enough, just very little bit. I can not find the A/C compressor relay. Have any idea I can check and fix?

If your compressor is on all the time and not getting cold air I would suspect your AC charge is to low, not a stuck really

@M C unless you have high side and low side it's not telling you a ton..if you turn the ac/ climate control off completely does it continue to spin the compressor?

mine did the same thing 09 altima, going to try to do the replacement this friday. how hard is the snap rings to get out without the pliers, is it worth buying a pair for this one job? also the bolt that holds on the pully has no head for a tool, is the best way to get the bolt out using a grinder to grind a place for a large flat head screwdriver?

I have not been able to get the bolt out of the compressor yet...but haven't had much time to work on it yet

You will need snap ring pliers. Some places have them in a cheap too bin.

I would suspect low pressure in the system, should be able to have it atlest checked about anywhere without much problem.
