2008 535i E60 Overflow Tank replacement

Discussion of overflow tank replacement with full removal instructions. This should save you a bunch of money, my dealer was willing to lift almost $1000 from my pocket. For the cost of around $170, I did it myself in about 20 minutes.

Lazarus of old threads. Thanks for the video. easy fix. The only tough part was the bottom hose. I had recently replaced the top one so it wasn't to bad to take off. Drained the tank and had very little coolant leak from the bottom hose on removal. Tank was purchased from Amazon. I appreciate it as others do. Those "hardlines for the computer" are brake lines, to and from the abs module.

i was hoping I would be able to do this but I'd need tools, the whole works aside from the parts. I may need to invest in tools, eh?! 2010 535i xdrive has had a coolant leak for the longest and has cost me a couple hoses.. have to get this resolved as there is a visible crack in the expansion tank ..

My bmw radiator expansion inner cap tightly secured to coolent expansion bottle.Ouer cap loosens.How do i remove inner cap on bmw 320 i e 90 2007 model

I can’t find my hose in the back does it mess anything up on the car ?

Is there a bleeder valve on tank to bleed in the process? Or just follow your steps? I have a 2007-530I

Robert White there's a bleeding process that involves the ignition/trip computer button and resetting the pump. Google it. Takes about 7 minutes to run unattended.

I replaced my expansion tank and I lose coolant when I park after extended driving. I didnt bleed the system and think that may be the issue
