It's time to set off an ambitious journey to restore my 2008 Audi R8 to its former glory, with a twist - upgrading it to an OEM+ standard. Over the last 5 years of ownership, I kept the car mainly as I bought it, and thus never drove the car in its factory spec, the spec that made me fall in love with the car. So in this video, I'll walk you through my philosophy behind OEM+ restoration, aiming to preserve the car's original spirit while introducing refined enhancements tailored to my personal preferences and taste!

First of all I want so say that I really like the way how much love you give the R8. I really like the way you treat your dream car! Because I do this at the same way to my car. And I really like the way that you don’t take the R8 for granted. You are not this type of person which drives his car for several months and treated it in the right way. After that you get bored of the car and treat it like a cheap accord. (Nothing against accord anyway) You really got my respect man! Second thing is that you said that you want to repair your shifter. Maybe you could change your middle console at the same time. Because there were some R8 which has the middle console made of real leather. Maybe this would upgrade your car like doing the cherry on the cake. Sorry if you don’t understand what I mean. It’s a German proverb. But feel free man. Your R8 is awesome! Greetings from Germany

Funny I have the exact same year/car/spec/color etc. I am doing the opposite w/ the OEM wheels. Changing them from the factory polish to a gunmetal color like yours are now. If we were close we could have done a swap! I am interested in hearing how the shifter finish goes. Mine is a little beat up and I would like to do the same. Keep up the good work!

That’s hilarious! To be honest with you, I would’ve kept the original finish, but because the rims are already damaged a little bit I thought I would go to the polished looked. I’ll let you know how polishing goes. I’ll be making a separate video on that! Thank you and stay tuned. I’ll have those updates coming out shortly.
