Thank you for posting. I drove from Clemson SC to attend this game and have never seen anything but highlights. This was a great game to attend. The Trojans scored most of their points in the endzone opposite to the one I was closest to. I was on about the 15 yard line and close the the USC Band. Now I am reliving an excellent memory. USC had the #1 Defense this year. They held opponents to 9 points a game and pitched 3 shutouts.

Went to the game with my wife, then girlfriend, it was her first USC game. She's been to about 60 or more since then in 6 or 7 different states. Hoping this year's defense is more like this one than last year's! Fight On!

As far as I'm concerned, the Rose Bowl was the _real_ national championship that year, Penn State was the second best team in the nation and could have beaten Florida 7 out of 10 times. We saw that when Penn State clawed back into the game and made a real comeback bid (after Clark threw that pick with 4 minutes left down 38-24, that pretty much ended the comeback bid with a huge momentum swing). And USC was the best team that year. It was the perfect matchup, too, both teams were very similar. USC had one bad half of football against an Oregon State team that PSU steamrolled, and Penn State had one bad quarter of football against Iowa (a night game in Kinnick Stadium). Both teams also beat a very good Ohio State team.
