With all the complexity of vehicles now, I usually say, "give me a Chevy Cobalt anyday and I'll be happy." Looks like it was well maintained and that's how a vehicle lasts a long time.

Here I was, thinking european cars put the battery in the trunk for weight distribution ... but you made a great point about battery temperature and longevity. It can easily get 140 degrees F under the hood and batteries start to degrade at around 115.

Iv been looking at one of these cuz of the simplicity, for a commuter car. Dealer is asking a lot but all 4 shocks, coils, struts are new with tires, brakes, oil, filters etc. I made the mistake of buying a Civic last time and the shocks were shot and it irked me driving it everyday.

If it has all those new parts, it’s certainly worth a little more money. Sounds like you can’t go wrong.
