Very helpful video, I have a 2012 mazda 3 with the same engine and the flywheel failed. I decided to replace it myself with help from my father even though I haven't done it before and saved myself hundreds in labour, cheers.

Excellent! It helped me tremendously lot yesterday in replacing the clutch on a 2010 Focus 1.6 tdci. It is a complete video for the clutch. Though, replacing shaft oil seals makes sense, when you invest so much work. It is also better to completely remove the shafts for safety and more room to work.

It’s probably net getting past the C clip. You have to really hit it out with a chisel and good hammer.

Amazing job, thank you for these informative videos. I'm looking to remove the gearbox on a 2011 volvo s40 with the D2 diesel engine. Do you know if i need to remove the sub frame or will there be enough room to slide it out? It's a 6 speed manual. Cheers.

If it’s an s40 petrol have a look at the Ford Focus video on the channel same engine and set up ... S40 diesel have a look at ford transit connect video same set up and engine.

Does this has a concentric slave cylinder? If so how did you bleed it? Before or after you install the gearbox back to the engine?

yoyo895 it’s just a rubber breather pipe. It’s only a fit in a small nozzle in the air box

John Layda I think if anyone is gonna attempt to do this kind of repair they need to know how to install a clutch already... otherwise I can go very wrong. ..

askullinconnemara If you know your stuff pretty well. You’ll be looking at about 5 hours. There is one bolt between the gearbox and the exhaust. That alone will set you back about 40 mins ... happy to help with some advice

todoran marius it should be very similar. But sometimes there’s slight discrepancies on the thickness of the pressure plate or the diameter. Best to go by the registration for the parts. But the fitting process is very similar

@@WMCS I saw that the luk clutch disc doesn't have shock absorber springs, only the sachs one has it, that's why I said to take the luk steering wheel and the sachs clutch kit
