2008 Ford Mondeo Stereo Radio removal and replacement with Xtrons System

How to remove a Ford Mondeo, Ford Focus Stereo Radio system and replace with an aftermarket Xtrons system. Very easy to do. Xtrons system is plug and play. Step by step in real time video. This only takes about 20 minutes to do, but allow yourself plenty of time so that you are careful and don't make mistakes. Remember to remove CDs from your old unit before removal.

Thank you for sharing the video. The radio in my mondeo mk4 suddenly did not work any longer and my ford workshop would install a "new" 11 year old original ford radio for the great price of 5000 danish krones @ 670 USD. But this radio I can install myself it seems and I can get it for around 530 USD.

You will lose the radio functionality but retain the trip computer.

Voice command will not work after you install radio.

I ended up putting the GPS on top of the unit housing and not tucked in behind it. Signal is great.

Do these units have bluetooth built into them. My Mondeo (2008) radio has the bluetooth phone buttons yet does not have bluetooth.

yes it has Bluetooth built-in

whats the canbus box that comes with it for. some people say they have issues with it. can it be used without the canbus box.

the canbus box is used so you have control of the unit with the buttons on the steering wheel. volume controls phone etc. If you don't use the canbus you won't have steering wheel controls.

did you turn the ignition on. also try the power button. hold it in for a few seconds.

fuse had blown, reinstalled fuse blew again and still no power so there is power just not going to the radio! any ideas?

if it's connected correctly and blowing fuse then I recommend you contact your supplier for support. sorry I can't help but seems like an issue with your unit. I've had about 30,000 views of this installation and your the first to have blown fuse. where did you purchase it from?

That would be a Bluetooth module replacement not the stereo itself. Incase you didn't get it sorted. The Bluetooth modules are known to be faulty sadly

yes I have parking sensors. The sound doesn't go through the unit. It works and sounds the same as before.

Yes his car wasn't affected as the sound has separate sound but ford above 2012 the sound will be affected as the sound will come from the main sound system in this case you need to added canbus from a company called connect2 and part number ctsfo011 to have sound otherwise no way to hear any sound after installing after market android

Hi Are these truly plug and play? I tired installing an after market cd player in my mondeo and was told that i need to run another lead from the fuse box for the ignition live feed. Would i have to do the same for the xtrons?

it is plug and play system. unit works with car running with no additional wiring. if you want to use the unit with the car not running then you need to connect 1 additional wire to the ACC power on your car.
