2008 Infiniti FX35 Review

I take a look at a 2008 Infiniti FX 35 Sport Compact Luxury SUV. This may be pushing 13 years old, but can still hang. See some of the features, my initial thoughts driving it for the first time, and what I generally like and dislike about it. Great suv crossover! Bought one earlier this year and really love this vehicle. Went from an 01 Nissan Pathfinder to a 06 Infiniti FX35. Same 3.5 engine just lighter and more responsive. Easy to work on, very reliable and looks amazing!

Just picked up a '08 and very pleased with the vehicle. As stated, the engine note is distinctive and yet non-offensive. Always liked them and now I get to understand why.

A futuristic design since 2003. I like that Infiniti model in all its generations. I own a QX70 and it’s sound is so special. Great video. #infiniti

It's not terrible...like 16 to 18 combined depending how you drive. For all wheel drive and a semi sports car feel I think it's worth it. Of course you can get a similar size suv now with like 24 but won't be near as nice sounding or cool looking. And for the year it's pretty comparable I'd say for a V6.**SK**

Thanks! I think its not bad for a SUV that is also part sports car. Compared to newer cars its kind of off the mark though. Our larger Pathfinder does maybe 4 to 8 mpg better overall depending how you are driving. But for that year, and what it is, I'm not sure its a selling point but def. not a deal breaker. Stats 15/22...it seemed to stick to the lower end of that spectrum that's for sure.**SK**

I bought a used 08 FX35 with 32k miles back in 09, and after 313k miles, the only thing wrong is the headlight assembly needs replacing because it had a hole and rusted the interior. Also the Adaptive Cruise Control isn't working, and I don't know why. Normal wear and tare on front suspension was the main repair.

I own an fx. I love it. Although keep in mind of the dashboard melt and the aluminum trim being damaged too. I fixed the trims easily by filling them, sanding, then wrapping it aluminum and you can’t see the difference. The dashboard, an upholstery shop will do it but be careful with the radio panel as an unprofessional will break it

It’s a stiff ride but they’re comfortable

Def stiff but comfortable stiff. End of the day this is for those who want a sports car but need back seat space

@@Br99klynINg24_8 Yes the suspensions are sport tuned, however, the seats do a fine job holding you well in place so the road imperfections aren't as harsh as a low riding sport car would feel. This is not a Mazda Miata.

I love this car to death. Mine has 130k miles and needs work fairly often and going to the gas station is like a punch in the gut with these 2021/2022 gas prices (up to $4.10 for premium) but man that acceleration and sound are to die for. No idea what I'll get next when this one goes out because they do not make sports car SUVs like this anymore... :(

I certainly hear that! I have test drove a Porsche Macan and I will say maybe once the car market cools off one of those won't be too crazy a price. Especially if you plan on keeping it a while. That was the only other small SUV I've found with the same DNA. Even faster and of course more exspensive, but that would be an option. Otherwise your kind of right. Which is surprising because everything has move towards SUVs as of late.**SK**

Can get a clean one right now with 170K miles for 2900 obo gonna offer 2400 Claims to only need tune up & rear brakes What do you think? Too high mileage?

Mileage sounds good. I take it that is private sale. I know people beat the hell out of the transmissions on these things, so I would really take some time to see how it shifts. Look for any record of maintenance on when the transmissions fluid was changed. But I really can't argue with that price in this market for sure.**SK**

My mom had a FX45 a few years ago. For her, some of the suspension components broke a lot because of the roads here in MA. But she loved beating all the accords and civics at Red Lights. I do not recommend it with more than 180k miles because that is where it begins to become a money pit. But that’s just our experience. He upgraded to a Qx60 now and she loves it just as much

I don't own the car so I cant say what it's actually like years later..but I believe they were around like 17/23 which isn't too bad for an older SUV, especially a sporty one...though I'm sure if you drive it like a sports car it will be much lower.**SK**

We have had one for 10 years Amazing car looks pretty sounds amazing can do the job for speed and handling and never had a trouble with space for people or luggage All around brilliant...

I don't blame ya one bit. I would suggest finding a well cared for model as many have beat on them, and been probably harsh on the transmission, but that said what a great car for the value. The Macan of it's day for sure.

You could make it work for sure. People behind you may be wanting a little for space...but certainly more than a sports car would give you. Certainly not roomy like a Pathfinder would be but if you want sporty and fast there has to be a little sacrifice and I think this does it very well with not too much sacrifice on space.**SK**

Very good car, great sporty feel while still actually having function for daily life. I wouldn't get a v8. And I would be careful which one. Because many people beat on them. May be worth a few extra bucks to get a more well kept one but I think it's a good car for sure.**SK**

my ex had one . there nice but over time alot broke and since i was a infiniti it was so expense to fix . Toyota suv man , maybe not so sporty but just last forever . new or used . now the best thing we ever did was lease . you can buy extra miles and man dont ever worry about problems . just my two cents . my new girlfriend leases a hyundai santa fe for 250 a month with nothing down . just awesome car too. also it tows my seadoo 155 limited no prob.

Yeah, we've looked at a couple used Pilots..Can't go wrong with the Toyotas either though your right. Basically shopping for two cars so weighing our options, especially now while we seem to have more time and less need to drive, just taking our time.**SK**

@@SKLIFEstyle I don't see why you should agree with him, infiniti makes some of the most durable and reliable cars, they are not known to break nearly as often as he's making it sound, and they aren't *"very expensive"* to fix, these things aren't Range Rovers you know.

Theyre not expensive to fix if u know what parts to buy u can replace most of the parts with Nissan parts and it'll cost half as much

I think I meant regular in the sense of not so video gameish like the new Nissan are where there is zero feedback. But I would certainly agree it does have a sport car type drive to it, more so than big suv dynamics. I test drove a Macan an that was the most sports car feeling I ever had in an SUV and this certainly reminded me slightly of that**SK**
