2008 Kawasaki ZZR600 Review and Walkaround

Review and walkaround of Kawasaki's 2008 ZZR600. The ZZR600 is better known as the late 90's and early 00's ZX6R. When Kawasaki updated the ZX6R, they kept this model and renamed it the ZZR600. It is an older looking bike with newer components. The most major pro of this bike is its reliability. There are no major cons to this bike. The things I didn't personally like would be that it's carbed and that it is quite slow compared to a more modern sport bike.

I bought one of these back in 06 brand new. This was my first bike. I didn't know what I was doing at first and handled it just fine. Just use common sense and respect its power.

Wow are you a complete scrub and cant deal with a good carbed bike? Carbs I agree can be troublesome when it comes to winter storage but if you use stuff like Marvel Mystery Oil in the gas you will NEVER have a carb issue for the life of the bike.

I had to google this to make sure you weren't joking...carbed? there is nothing wrong with carbs...but you have to be a ninja or jedi to work on them

billmaa Yea man, I agree that there is nothing wrong with carbs, but I will avoid them if I can. I sold this bike yesterday after I made this video actually...because I didn't want to mess with cleaning 4 carbs!!

ToastToGo They aren't bad...just a pain in the ass to get proper....You gotta know what your doing...it's a lost art..If you do it once very well...don't change altitude or let your gas get gummy..it'll stay good for years...Adjusting valves on a Ducati....that makes messing with carbs as simple as playing with Play-Doh

I get 53 all day mpg. It does take the lower gas octaine. It will run fine, unless you live in a area where the temp is at 100 plus. Over all my wife loves her bike. Nothing wrong with the carbs. Handles well, and does take corners good. Not as good as my 2008 cbr1000rr but it gets the job done.

I had the same bike ('07) as my first street ride. Rode it 97k miles over five years before selling it. It was a fantastic and easy first bike for me, but I grew up riding dirtbikes. The carburetors weren't that bad, but the bike was a bear to start and warm up in the winter. Looking into buying the '21 ZX6R, but it's doubtful that it'll be as comfortable as the old ZZR. No other sportbike had the same level of comfort, and they're getting worse.

I had an '05 Marine Green ZZR600 and later an '05 Titanium ZX-6R. Any place other than the track I preferred the ZZR with its comfort, handling stability and less peaky power band. Of course I wasn't a spring chicken at the time and am a lanky bodied man 190 cm. They are both great bikes to be honest.

shit, I got my zzr 3 yrs ago and had not been on anything since 94' Im 32 now so do the math. It fits me like a glove and I don't plan on parting ways for atleast 2 more years

Thinking about upgrading to one of these or the yzf600. Was looking more towards these to save on Inurance instead of a supersports 600. I currently ride a ninja 500. Any other complaints other than it being carbed? I started watching your other vids btw and you have some great content...subbed and thanks!!!

usoohot Thank you kind KZbinr! My friend Kuosion had the YZF600. They are very similar to the ZZR600 because they are both carbed and have a more upright seating position. They will definitely save you some money on insurance as well, as they are classified as sport touring instead of super sport. No real complaints, it's a great bike.

Ahh, getting rid of the old bike, eh? Another motorcycle you could probably buy, (if you want to stay away from most common supersport bikes, and still have comfort) is the Daytona 600 or 650. I've heard that those bikes are more up right as well, and theyre very rare, much like the zzr. They're also 4 cylinder, instead of 3 cylinder like the daytona 675
