Nice video as always 👍 Anyway I have a few questions about this w221, is this the Swb or the lwb? In terms of comfort (ride experience, the seats & etc) , how would you describe it between this with the w140 or w220? Sorry for asking a lot of questions😅🙏

Thank you for watching! No problem at all, I'd be happy to answer any questions about this W221 as best as I can. In terms of ride quality I would say it is comparable in many ways to the W140, although I would say the W221 has better handling and feels more planted on the road. It feels like an evolution of the previous S-Class generations in a sense - a more modern package and marginally improved comfort, although nothing groundbreaking. The W221 has a similar poise and robustness as the ride of the W140, which I really appreciate with it. It feels like a solid and well-built car on the road. As for the seats, I was actually impressed with the W221. This might be subjective, but I found them to be much improved from the standard seats of the W140. They feel very plush and luxurious, yet ergonomic and supportive at the same time - terrific seats overall! I hope this was helpful!

thanks for the swift reply! As I expected the w221 ride is much nicer than the W140, with its airmatic suspension which I really like about this car, & as you said earlier about the seats, it is true that the seats somehow feels plush & if it comes with perforated leather seats it is, even more, plusher than the regular leather seats& it is sure much more comfortable than my living room sofa!🤣 In my honest opinion, the daily ride will be the w221 & the w140 will be as a weekend getaway car. Nowadays the w140 spare parts are quite hard to get especially the new parts from MB ,so having 2 w140's & I'm pretty sure the w221 suits the best for the daily ride & spare parts are easier to get if things go wrong than the w140. I quite like the Short wheelbase w221 than the Lwb it looks good without the longer rear doors. As always thumbs up for the video!👍

@HikalBenz Yes indeed, the W221 does have some advantages due to it being newer and an evolution of the W140. I definitely agree that the seats are more comfortable than some furniture haha, perhaps it wouldn't be a bad idea to rebuild one to an armchair? I think that is a solid choice and the W221 is the better daily driver for the reasons that you mentioned. Even if the W140 is reliable, it has reached an age where it is more suitable to treat them as classic enthusiast vehicles and focus on preservation. Parts scarcity is also an issue for such an exclusive car, like you pointed out. The W221 is known to be dependable for the most part, so running costs shouldn't be that high unless you are unlucky. I agree that the SWB W221 is a good-looking S-Class, even if it is of course more common. Cheers, I appreciate you returning to my videos and enjoying the content - best of luck with your W140's!

@@Auto_Lore if you gonna make the seat of w221 as an armchair you going to be the first one to do it Hahaha. Absolutely agree with what you wrote there! It is true that if you get a "lemon car" you will constantly spending money to fix it rather than enjoying the ownership& driving it, so in that case, one needs to find a very well maintained S class rather than having real dirt cheap S-class that we as car enthusiasts know that the cheapest Mercedes S-Class will be the most expensive one to maintain at the end of the day🤣. Here in Malaysia, we only do get Lwb S-class, the swb only comes from grey import or more known here as recond cars from Japan or UK. Luckily you guys in Europe can choose either one Lwb or swb from the factory 👍. I really do appreciate that you take the time to reply to the comments & I do enjoy watching the video too! Best of luck to your KZbin channel! Anyway, recently I've just made a video of another new to me W140 on my KZbin channel & if you have spare time do check it out on my KZbin channel. Thanks again.🙏😎

@@HikalBenzChannel Haha yes, that would certainly make an interesting project! You are absolutely right that finding a well-maintained S-Class will pay off in the long run since it is such a sophisticated car with gadgets and mechanical components that you want to function properly. There are of course exceptions to this rule and no guarantee that a good example will be inexpensive to own and vice versa, but at the very least there are fewer niggles and unexpected quirks that you have to deal with. That is interesting, perhaps Malaysia has a more niche market for the S-Class compared to Europe and most of these being chauffeur driven? That would explain the reason behind the LWB version being the only option offered. Thank you very much, I will definitely take a look at the videos on your own channel and also subscribe as I really enjoy W140 content. Take care!
