Great video thanks! I just removed the cap, but a couple of teeth broke off, and I tried my best to see if they were still stuck inside the hole. I fitted the new one but it took some force to install. If there was a small piece stuck inside, is that a problem ?

I have a 'burned oil" smell in my sl550. Would this kind of leak get to the exhaust manifold? Any suggestions? There is no oil in the under pans - clean as a whistle.

One issue with oil leaks is it’s difficult to find the source. The best I can say is with a strong LED flashlight look at all sides of the engine for a dirty “fuzzy” appearance, this will be the accumulation of dirt sticking to oil, it will look damp. And then follow it upward. Also, wipe down as much of the engine as you can and then inspect. This may not be much help, tracing oil leaks can be tenuous. Thanks for watching. MooseMade

I believe the 5.5L engines are the same. There are plugs on both sides, mine happened to be leaking from the passenger side. MooseMade

The cap for the camshaft part number is A 000 998 56 90 It simply says cap on the box. Hope this helps!

Hi. Great video. I just noticed a leak on the garage floor near the front right. Is this an overflow? Is it ok to drive the car even if there was a leak? When driving I smelt burn so guessing the leak went to the muffler.

I would say, do you notice your coolant overflow tank low? Or maybe drips on the ground? If you can estimate where it’s coming from I might wipe down the area and then look for evidence of the leak.

Use a special dye in conjunction with an ultraviolet light and the antifreeze will glow.
