I was in Allentown in '08 and saw this show live. Just after Phantom finished their performance, someone in the row behind us answered a cell phone call and when asked what they were doing, this individual said, "We just had an orgasm with Phantom Regiment." Hands down the best DCI show I've witnessed live. Finals was insane! The announcement of the scores was my favorite part. I still get chills to this day.

I will put this particular performance up against ANY single show in BLue Devils history. THey are a brilliant organization with stllar quality work, but Ive never yet seen online or in person a reaction like the one at the end of this show.. And the retreat video... absolutely timeless.

Excellent question. This content has always been in our archives, as we had our own Sony PMW-EX1 Camcorder placed on the Press Box level. Drum Corps Films/Christensen Media was contracted to produce tour documentaries for several corps (Phantom, BD, SCV, and more in 2008). In short, we made their DVDs. Unfortunately, the DVDs were in standard definition, and the lack of space forced us to compress the mpg file heavily. That's why Phantom's Tour DVD and DCI's championship DVDs look like they are in low resolution, but they looked great on TV back in 2008. Today, we use enhancing tools from our original HD footage assisted by some AI algorithms, but we had these tools for quite a while. Computer speeds today help us render overnight compared to two weeks (not kidding). Important note; this is original footage and not AI-generated; that is a different animal altogether.
