It's basically just an automatic with manual mode. My old 2013 Impala has this stock. Behaves the same. The only difference is it has + and - buttons behind the steering wheel.

There is it's still an auto with a regular clutch. I wish we could get the charger in manual. Or duel clutch so it's faster crisp shifts

that's because the 5 speed automatic version is the same transmission from Mercedes and it's called 5g tronicIt's lazy but super durable and it can handle torque up to 800+

There are tunes to mitigate it somewhat. I've seen them shift faster.

Is there anything stopping you from pushing the shifter from drive to park? Like do you have to pull/push it sideways to get into reverse or park from neutral?

On the stock assembly there is a shift interlock mechanism that stops this from happening. I assume this probably has the same thing.
