2008 Saturn Outlook Stabilitrak and traction control fix .codes c0561-71, p0171, p0174

if you have the codes c0561-71 or p0171, p0174 then this may be the issue. mine also felt like the transmission was downshifting hard while the stabilitrak and traction control lights were on. i hope this helps. please like and subscribe

Thank you so much! Saved my problem. I changed spark plugs on my 2008 Saturn Outlook. After the job was finished, I found the vac cap on the ground, having absolutely no idea what it was. Obviously I knocked it off changing the rear bank of the plugs without knowing it. Thereafter the car gave me the "service traction control" message as well as engine error "bank 1 too lean", and "bank 2 too lean". I am glad I didn't throw the cap away. This seems to have worked! My vacuum cover was just cracked slightly, so my traction control / Stabilitrak error would only kick in at highway speeds. THANK YOU for the quick and easy solution! Can't believe it was that easy! :)

Just found mine. Had P0171 and P0174 codes and the annoying Stabilitrak and Traction Control Off message going off numerous times during any drive. Mine was a broken vacuum line that goes between two sensors on the right side near the firewall AFTER you take off the cowling. (sorry, didnt look up which ones) The hose was a rigid hose and the barbs on the sensors had blue o-rings. The split in the line was impossible to see but I felt it with my finger on the backside facing the firewall. Replaced the line, cleared the codes and no issues. ** Note, I havent reviewed the stabilitrak/traction control functions but this fix and the others Ive read lead me to believe the vacuum level to the brake system is KEY to the stabilitrak operating properly. This means its not only an electronic sensor that can malfunction. I had a hose lying around so this fix was FREE! Also, if your running lean it is because you have too much air or not enough fuel in the cylinder. Another clue to look for a vacuum leak.

That fixed mine (Acadia) I changed spark plugs and must have knocked that thingy off when I was reaching around the back side of the engine. Had the exact symptoms and codes, ran and shifted like shit, and putting a cap on that hose fixed everything. Thanks!!!

This helped out for the stabilitrak so thank you! I also had the traction control light and abs light come occasionally too so I had to take of my driver side tire and pull out my wheel abs sensor and clean it and that cleared that right up now my suv is running full force!

I have a 2008 Outlook , I replaced the cap but it’s still doing the same thing . I’ve replaced the whole suspension and it’s still doing the same thing . When I drive it , it shakes and vibrates . Any ideas on what else could be causing this issue ?

I have a 07 Saturn outlook and when I go to accelerate it gets a bit shaky then all them lights turn right on but sometimes it will drive fine like i would try to speed up from a stop or a turn and it would have problems accelerating

I have the same problem and did this but 2 days later it started doing the same thing again. I was at the beach when It happened and didn't reset the codes but it turned the codes off by itself so I really thought it was good but then on the way back home it started doing it again and now its been 3 more days of this. it only does it when I'm not pushing the gas pedal though. as soon as I push the gas the light will cut off. do you have any suggestions? I'm all out of ideas

Jay Perdue but those codes could come from a vacuum leak. I recommend getting a pressure test done they can put smoke in the line and find the leak if that is the problem. If not u will need a diagnostic test done

Another issue with these vehicles is the sunroof drains clogging and leaking into the car. On my sisters it caused water to get into the dash and into electrical connectors including the computer. Causing shorts and loss of power. Make sure no water is under the carpet it also gets into door wiring. If u open your door there is a harness from the door to the body. The clip folds up and it pulls right out. Water gets in there and shorts wiring causing major issues

Did that vehicle have only a stabilitrak code? Mine will randomly say engine power reduced, service stabilitrak, service throttle, service traction control. It will not let me just start the vehicle back up, it will say starter disabled. If I turn key off, open door to let all power go off, it will let me restart the car after 30 seconds, sometimes a little longer. The check engine light will be on, but after I start it and turn it off a few times, the check engine light will go away until it does the same process again. I have taken it to two dealerships, and still have not found out how to fix it. Everyone is as stumped as I am. I have tried a few things, cleaning grounds by fuse box in engine compartment, and filled brake fluid to max level ( two things I saw other people say will fix it) and it cut off on me 10 minutes after I did those things. I do not really have the option to get rid of the vehicle at this point without losing thousands of dollars I really do not have. This car has been having certain codes pop up for a long time. Started out with the first one saying service air bag, the that went away. The I got the service stabilitrak, but it never turned off on me. Now that doesn't pop up unless it turns that whole car off on me and says the details I listed above. You may not be able to help, but I figured it was worth a shot. Thanks.

Love Yourself you need a diagnostics scanner....free to use at auto parts store. sometimes disconnecting battery for a few minutes works
