The tracks back then were soooo much better than they are now. The jumps were steeper, there were difficult sections that separated the good from the great.

I consider RV the better of them. Stewart was mostly faster but RV was also really fast and could keep up on many races and beat him on some. RV had a way stronger mentallity and more consistant making him a more complete rider. Winning FOUR SX seasons in a row and blistering fast the outdoors he won. I rank it RC, RV and now considering ET in third because competition is way harder now.

James wasn't comfortable on that yamaha like he was on kaw or suzuki.. didnt pull away like usuall the kawasaki was his best riding..but he gave yamaha the reboot they needed since Mcgrath and boosted Yamaha sales

Stewart was able to take Reed and I believe Andrew Short, when Short and Reed where teem mates in a right hand turn when Stewart Bubba scrubbed a Big Triple. Villopoto couldn't do it.

yeah a rookie Villopoto. RV was one of the best riders ever with more championships than Bubba.
