2009 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid Battery status.

Question: My 2009 Chevy Tahoe Hybrid, check Engine light code P0B3D,, problem with 1 cell from the Hybrid battery,, do you know anybody to replace only that without replacing the full battery!!!

I’m sorry I don’t, it’s difficult to get a dealer to get the battery assembly. Last time I tried to get one was a couple years ago and they wanted over $4000. Sorry I couldn’t be of any help.

Did ur engine break down after 270,000 miles?

Oh yeah, rings were shot, had a wrist pin gone, it was bad. I bought it that way though.

I have an 09 tahoe the hv battery got drawn down trying to start it and now will not turn over. How do I recharge the battery to get the engine to start again?

I’m not sure, if you recharge the main battery, that might do it. I am not really sure on those. Some vehicles there’s a button you can push. But I don’t think the Tahoe has that option.

Hey I also have a 09 Hybrid tahoe and yesterday while driving it started making a little whining noise and when I accelerated it started jerking like it was struggling to accelerate and the engine light came on. I shut it off and then started it again. When I started it back up the engine light went off and it was driving kinda normal but every now and again it does the same thing. Do by any chance might know what could be causing this?

sounds like a bad ignition coil or spark plug

@@ryans.8814 I took it to a shop but they told me I have to take it to a Chevrolet dealership. It was reading like 18 codes

@@koolboi8036 if one of the codes is misfire then new coils or plugs should fix the issue you described

The guy told me the codes were related to the hybrid system. Idk I’m just tired of this truck lol

@@koolboi8036 I also have a 09 hybrid Tahoe that did the same thing - replaced spark plugs and coils and it fixed it and erased all the other codes. Try it

I JUST PUT AN ENGINE IN ONE OF THESE IS THERE A WAY TO CHARGE THE HYBRID BATTERIES TI START IT ANG GE THEM CHARGING

if you need to start the engine you will need a Tech2 or clone to jump it/charge SEE the user hybrid manual before jumping it other wise you will air bag sensor lock the SUV ... the hybrid has a two way charging system it will take a few hours depending on how deeply discharged the HV battery is ...
