2009 Focus : Fix for NO indicators/outside temp/red frost/hazard/handbrake light

If you've changed a fuse or suddenly find your outside temp not showing, indicators not working, parking brake light lit up and no hazard lights, watch this video.
I searched everywhere for this fix and only 1 guy that I found a solution, hope this video helps.

My son came round to our house saying his indicators werent working, he had brake management light on, main beam light not showing, interior light staying on, no cenntral lockin, came on youtube, saw your video, watched it, went out to his car, shoved the clip up and we heard about 4 clicks, sat in drivers seat started the car, everything works fine, indicators, central locking, brake management light has gone off, interior light has gone off, YOU sir deserve a knighthood (as doe the person whose video you watched}. You were spot on with my fault. I couldn't even tell the plugs were loose, but as soon as I touched them, the central locking fired in. Cheers!

This worked 100%!!! I even mentioned the problem to the garage and still it wasn’t fixed- only a dash showing temperature and red frost light permanently so b. So, knowing nothing about cars as a woman I went to the fuse box, pushed the lever and instantly problem solved, car is reading temperature and no frost light. Myself and my lovely wife were about to tackle the Bealach na Bà reputedly steepest road in UK when all the above happened along side a central locking fault. Only after bypassing the road (we decided not wise with brake warning lights on) and returning to civilisation and phone signal did I find this wonderful video that fixed things in seconds. Last night at work I lost indicators, temp, central locking, my hand take light wouldn’t go off etc etc. Checked this plugged, it had come lose, plugged it back in and everything was fine again. Thanks Richard ,, i changed pollen filter which needs the fuse box and frame removed to gain access .. and afterwards had the red ice and handbrake light staying on ... this short video took me staright to the problem .. nice one :)

I've just had a car come in this morning with this exact fault. The customer had replaced a headlight fuse. Exactly as you described, pushed the lever back down and boom 💥 everything's back working again. 💪 Saved me a right headache. Thanks 👍

Perfect! Similar problem after fiddling in the fuse box. Wipers not working (except if I squirted the washer jets), Hazards not working, Indicators not working. I checked both 'levered cables' under the fusebox and nope, still not working however there was another 'levered cable' inside the fuse box underneath fuses 100 - 104 which I must have knocked. Plugged it back in, et viola.. all working perfectly. thank you for saving me hours of searching and cursing. Isn't it frustrating when you scour internet forums, read all about the same problems and the final post in the thread simply reads 'it's working now'.

2009 Ford Kuga. Had an issue with the external temperature reading going from being blank to -33c (that's cold). Having been told it would be £80 for Ford just to look at it I turned to good old KZbin. Thanks to Richard my issue was fixed in seconds.

Absolute legend! Missus just came in (Christmas eve, ice all over the car) complaining that the heater won't turn on, nor will the deicers work, and there's no temperature on the dash. Rolled a cigarette and quick check on google (not one I've heard of before) leads me here, and within 10 seconds of opening the passenger door, she's off on her way to get the last few little bits for tomorrow, and I'm the hero who saved the day :P 08 Focus, right hand plug had come out when the stepson got in the car last night!

that's exactly what happened to my C-Max this weekend, arrived at the caravan sight, dash was exactly the same!! Thanks I will be making that my first point to check. We were going over some particularly nasty bumps as we got near the sight, and only noticed it once I'd parked up, so could quite possibly have been dislodged and be the problem!! Cheers!! Thanks. This fixed my problem. I also had a warning message to say the bonnet was open - which it wasn't. Bonnet message has gone too. Now all I have to do is turn off the engine warning light that came on at the same time... Focus 2L 2009

Good work my man! 09 Focus. Fixed. Central locking, indicators on dashboard, temperature, radio, cruise control, all intermittently going out. Lever wasn't obviously awry but probably loose connection. Now I know why the guy who sold me the car left a bag full of fuses!

Thanks mate! I had same issues plus central locking wouldn't work and boot could only be opened via the remote. This cured all of those problems in less than a minute. (06 Focus C Max).

Had airbag, handbrake and seatbelt lights intermittently, then just handbrake but no indicators. The lever didn't seem loose but pushed it in anyway. So far, so good. Lights have usually come on by now so might be fixed (05 focus). Not all hero's wear capes!!!

Please could you tell me what that lever part is called, so I can see if I can get a replacement? We have exactly the same dashboard errors as you mention, but intermittent. The picture you shared shows two "levers", our car only seems to have one!! We have two parts as your picture shows, but the one on the left as you look at it has no lever.
