What about exhaust ? Borla S ? I know its loud, but what about drone inside cabin in normal city/higway driving (50-60 km/h - 120 - 150 km/h)? Sick Jeep :)
@AllCarsUnited7 жыл бұрын
+Peacemaker in my opinion the drone is definitely there. I drive a gt500 with a muffler delete kit and it doesn't have as much drone. Then again he is putting out more power than me which would affect the tone. You eventually get used to it though! Now when he opens the cut offs its absolute chaos. Unfortunately I didn't film the part where we were asking for directions and the guy could not hear any word we said lol it's not the truck for a date, unless the female is into motley and crew megadeth.. But it definitely can be used as a daily driver.
@unclebuck19817 жыл бұрын
If you just run a borla s exhaust with stock cats and headers it will have minimal drone and sound good. I got a lot of compliments on it when I just has that setup. After adding headers and catless mids it was much louder and had more drone to the point where I can barley have a conversation on the phone lol. Open the cutouts and forget about it

+Joey G I messaged him. He may be away. Keep me posted in any case! Curious
@unclebuck19817 жыл бұрын
well ya there are a few things, what are you looking to do with it ultimately? How much for it with 148? Also thats kinda high mileage but if you plan on rebuilding the motor at some point then go for it if the body is in good shape. See how many owners it has had, carfax, and see if there are vehicle maintenance records, oil changes, diff fluid change, etc. As far as known issues, the rear diff can get lose, might be a good way to drive the price down if you hear clinking its ok but needs to be replaced at some point, its about 1500 for a wavetrack installed, take a good look at the radiator, they can leak if they are driven in cold weather where salt might have gotten to it. Also look at the rims, the durabirght might be coming off or be cloudy up close, again i would use that to drive down the price. The ac and heat flappers are known to get stuck so try turning that on and going from hot to cold on both sides you can hear if it gets usually. just remember at that mileage almost everything is gonna have to get replaced like shocks, struts, bushings, maybe even gaskets.

sorry i should have said that the WK1's in general are the best to drag, that includes 06 to 10. The 09 and 10's have the upgraded interiors and different color brakes. If your gonna build one out just get one with a as nice of a body and paint job as you can that has under 100k miles on it.
@gameopsdk7 жыл бұрын
Greg Cusson that's good news, it may save me from having to ship one halfway across the counrty! up here in the northwest I can find plenty of 07s and 10s but just a few 08s and no 09s.. it's definitely something I wanna look into doing eventually. you mentioned that you didn't op for a stroker hemi, did you swap yours out for a new engine when you started upgrading?

About what budget would I be looking at if I want a 500awhp wk1 keep srt8?
@unclebuck19817 жыл бұрын
Around 10-12 depending on what build you go with. For a NA build you will need Ported Heads (ported polished stock is around $1600, Thitek are around $2500), CAM, Headers, springs, valves, full exhaust, CAI and a Tune, should get you around 450rwhp (closer to 500 if you add in a ported intake manafold and 90mm tb), to get 500 awhp your are looking at numbers closer to 600 on a standard dyno and that would require a bigger motor 426 or 440 for a NA build with race gas. For the record i was making 490rwhp on 93 with the setup i listed just now, never had a race gas tune with that setup but it would have been north of 500. I loved the N/A build and the sound of the CAM but for less than 10 grand you can get a procharger d1sc installed and make 550rwhp eazy, Call the guys at HHP they will put together a quote for ya including labor and walk you through everything, btw when they give a quote they stand by it, no hidden charges or increased hours on installs.....100% recommend them over a local shop, they are worth the trip to Delaware or you can ship your car to them. Ill add that you can also go with a Turbo and make closer to 600 for around 12 grand, I recommend True street if your in the NY area, Demon Performance in the mid Atlantic, or stage 6 if your down in Florida for a turbo build. One benefit of going the turbo route is that it wont put strain on the crank shaft like a SC will (could lead to a spun bearing or other problems on a high mileage stock block. Each build has its benefits, NA build is bad ass nice torque, turbo will get your more top power, SC is eazy to install, throws less heat. Once you start going over 550/600 hp range things start getting really expensive.

just a quick answer to your question. I'm running obx headers. with high flow cats, no brick so basically a straight pipe but can pass inspection for emissions. had them ceramic coated. then a Borilla s loud exhaust. and I had qtp exhaust cutouts welded on the midst. we had them closed when driving, was way to loud. the first launch in the video from the outside is with them open
