Fantastic video, B-Man! It's so weird you had to swap all the steering just for your engine. Jeep things, I guess. 😂

It was an old postal jeep

Wonder why other videos make it seem so hard or time consuming to move the parts to make it work in a jeep

@@franklastname4904 I know! Really isn’t that difficult to do lol

Did u ever dig into to old 300k mile engine to determine if the timing chain was the issue?
@BroncoBoy03287 ай бұрын
Unfortunately I did not. I turned it in as a core. I suspected that the chain and possibly #5 cylinder were going bad, as #5 had lower compression than the other cylinders.

Major job done really well. Thanks for the video. Did you have to do anything to the computer to recognize the engine?
@BroncoBoy03287 ай бұрын
Thank you sir! No reprogramming was necessary. Everything was recognized as oem.

hello, I read some youtubers changed head gaskets, did you have to do this?
@BroncoBoy032819 күн бұрын
@@adamphipps8586 I did change the head gaskets prior to the engine swap. The engine was more damaged internally, ie cam and rings, so the head gaskets didn’t solve the problem.

Good stuff. Seems like such a scam that you can buy a NEW T&C 3.8 for 1K less than a factory reman Jeep 3.8.

How many 3.6’s have that mileage?

Wonder if anyone can confirm if this will work for a 2007 3.8 as well?
@thomasceruzzi1871 Жыл бұрын
The 2007 minivan block is the same but will require more light machine work to fit. I'm currently putting an '07 Caravan 3.8 into my 2007 Wrangler. From what I've noted so far, I will have to drill and tap four motor mount holes (bosses are cast in place), drill oil dipstick tube hole (the earlier vans use a cast boss more forward, both bosses are on the block), move the items already noted. What wasn't mentioned is that after installing upper oil pan mount, you need to check for clearance of the connecting rod/crankshaft to upper pan. With the earlier style forged rods used in the vans, you can get some minor interference that is easily taken care of with a dremel.

Right! Was an old postal jeep out in southern Illinois, where the houses are miles in between. Definitely lasted a lot longer than I thought it would.

I am currently getting heads milled and compression tested on a mail jeep that I just bought, as it needed engine work. It has 405,000 miles on it

Surprised you didn't go for a lower mile engine 150k is still kinda high when 70k mile engines are available

@@BLACK_BY_POPULAR_DEMAND unfortunately I could not locate any lower mileage engine in my area. So I went with what was readily available.
