Very nice. Seems like Quimby does a very fine job.

Organ has a very smooth impressive sound for it's size. I compliment the designers/installers for figuring out the placement of the pipes and equipment too. Well done.

Thank you for posting, very interesting to hear and see this typical American organ. Regards from Brabant, The Netherlands
I love KZbin for all its 'organ geek' stuff: and this is a goodie. Thank you for posting it.

A nice variety of color and a very masculine GT principal chorus!

Sounds great but please slow down when panning around. It's difficult to see what's what!

Id take that trumpet for my residence organ! Looks and sounds great though I cant figure why anyone would PAINT wood pipes let alone battleship grey! Even lacquered poplar looks nice, nicer than paint

Sometimes old wood pipes have become so badly stained that no amount of sanding will provide a presentable appearance, and paint becomes the practical option. British organs have very often had painted wood stops from the factory, not to hide any defects in the wood, but because the builder felt that the pigments in paint provided a more protective seal to wood than a clear finish.

What happened to the old Kilgan tracker that was there? (I think it was a Kilgan...)

I'm still not sure how exactly they managed to fit a 16' Principal in there. The video didn't show it clearly.

Why did Vatican II affect the placement of the choir in an Episcopal church?
@alexanderweibel-valls93794 жыл бұрын
The organist made the Vatican II reference at 19:37 which is what I was questioning.

@@alexanderweibel-valls9379 That is a great question. I thought I could find a quick answer online, but could not.
@alexanderweibel-valls93793 жыл бұрын
@@brianbrinkman7964 Forgiven! If anything the Anglican/Episcopal churches preserved the placement of the choir from its architectual inception. The placement of the Catholic choirs in the back, which predates Vatican II was to encourage congregational participation. In a reverse, the placement of contemporary choirs back to the front or off to the side was for the same purpose. If anything, the addition of a songleader/psalmist/cantor at the front of Catholic Churcehes appears more common after Vatican II.

As an organ aficionado, I would like nothing more than to watch these videos. That said, as long as Bret Johnson is part of it, I will never watch. He works my last nerve and I believe he feels the video is about him! Sorry!!

Chuck Lambooy what are you talking about???
@chucklambooy84574 жыл бұрын
a4skyraider i believe my comment was sufficient, and concise. Other than that I believe he feels that having someone else there is not what he wants.

Gee, then don't watch, because Bret isnt going away, he's a personable and fantastic presenter and I enjoy all of his videos.

Now your out to lunch my friend. Brent wouldn't do these videos if some one else wasn't there.
