200BHP MK2 ESCORT PINTO POWER & WEBER WIZARDS! JDA RETRO SERVICES

Welcome back all,
In this weeks video I take the short trip up to Milton Keynes to visit Darren and Jacob at JDA Retro Services. They start by showing me around their Mk2 Escort which is powered by a 200bhp+ pinto, which I couldn't stop drooling over! Not only did the escort have a crazy engine but the rest of the classic ford was mint with loads of modifications and tweaks that Darren had made.
We then explored their carburettor restoration centre. With their skills and knowledge they are able to completely clean and service webber carbs and make them look new again. They also supply new webber carbs as they are an official dealer and are very popular.
The main reason I went and gave them a visit is because I purchased some twin 45 Webbers along with an inlet manifold and linkage. I unbox this in the video and cannot wait to get them bolted to the side of my pinto!

Smashing video as per. I am a VW man from day dot but always liked a fast Ford. My Dad though was always scathing about Ford ( cos he was VW) and back in the day they had their issues with rust etc . Point I'm trying to make is that I'm learning loads and rightly respecting Ford Uk for the awesome cars they produce. I got to have a spin last week in an Escort R/S 2000 mk1 . Never been in anything other than a 1.0 litre fiesta from that sort of period and it was effin brilliant. So carry on Sir , I look forward to the next.

Great video Your chap from JDA said about leaving tools loose in the boot I was following a MK1 Cortina on a rally and I couldn't believe it seemed to be getting dents outwards on the rear side panel,s as we went through bends . At the halfway we looked in the boot ,their was a trolly jack loose in the boot!

What a nice guy, I ran 45s on my pinto but went back to a twin choke for a bit more economy. Decided that I'm going back to 45s again because I miss that burble noise so much, its addictive, you'll love them! Deffo get them set up on the dyno though 👌

Great Video Mitch,quick question I've seen a lot of Picture's of Webber Carburetors running with the Trumpets only no filters doesn't this allow Dirt & Dust to enter the Carburetors and block the Jets,they definitely look better without the Filters,but is this a good idea ?
