This is one of my favorites out of the channels early videos! Old one but a good one for sure, no music, captions, or commentary to distract you! Just pure engine audio and different camera views for a more immersive experience. Thanks for watching ATC REVOLUTION! If you enjoy riding and three wheelers and are new to this channel, please consider subscribing so we can continue putting out videos, and make sure these trikes stay great/relevant!

I ride a 200x an I'm also in pa. I know what you mean by bogging down in 2nd on steep hills. Haha. Whereabouts are ya? those trails look sweet!

Thank you for the comment and welcome to the channel! Lol I’m glad you know what I mean with the second gear bogging on steep hills. My 86 impressed the heck out of me though on the climb we named “The 200x Killer”, can’t really tell from the film but the little 200 was right on the ragged edge of crossing the point of no return on bogging pretty much the whole way lol. It has just enough bottom end power to keep it chugging on that climb so there’s not much room for error on the rider end. The first part turns into almost a wall and is a pretty long way back down to the bottom, it’s definitely a hill that can kill a trike if your not on top of your game. The first time I attempted that hill was pretty intense and I thought for sure I wasn’t going to make it. Felt like it took about an hour to get to the top and I had to work the clutch several times just enough to save it from dying but not lift the front tire off the ground. That hill climb was untouched for probably close to a decade before that so I climbed it a few times off cam to make sure it was do able on a 200x and to wear in a path a little bit. Unfortunately we can longer ride on the land that climb is on so I’m glad I got it video before that happened. What year 200x are you riding? My 86 has the close ratio 6 speed trans so my 2nd gear is a little lower then the first gen 5speed 2 gear. That definitely helps having the close ratio, I have first gens as well and it’s a noticeable difference riding one then the other back to back. Running 18” rear tires on the first gen seems perfect in my opinion and ran identical to my 86 with 20” rear tires. Im running 18’s on my 86 now so I feel like if I could do the X Killer again with the smaller tires I could actually get a run in 3rd gear then downshift to 2nd for the rest. I’m in Elk County, whereabouts are you located in PA?

I really think, on the list of all time great ATC’s I would put the 1986/87 200x in second place right behind the 250R.

I would have to agree on that! I hope to own a liquid cooled R one day!

@@ATCREVOLUTION the 250r isnt worth the money they are asking today. I would rather spend that money on a cr 250 and have BVC off road convert it. About the same money for a better machine.

Very true! I’d love to have a BVC 250 or 500AF conversion.

Wish the gopro would do this hill climb justice! The “200X Killer” is a long & steep climb. The hill is much harder then it looks on camera and I have to end up clutching it several times to keep my momentum going and prevent the ATC from bogging down to the point that it died. I hit in 2nd gear pinned then just held it wide only letting up a little when absolutely necessary. The 200X was on the ragged edge of stalling from pretty much the beginning almost all the way to the top of this climb. I don’t think I would of made this if I dropped down to first gear as it would slow me down way too much, probably spin and lose momentum, and/or the front end would be a lot less predictable from the tires quickly grabbing traction while spinning. This is not a hill climb to be taken lightly with 13hp! The first time I attempted this hill and made it about half way up I thought it would be a miracle if I made it the whole way. But I made it, you just have to hold on and commit!

Sounds like a job for a 350x. Ive taken my 350 up some pretty tall dunes at a place called Lancelin in western australia where I live and it just goes up and over them no worries! It really is in its element there.

Hey brother I had a 200 X back in the day but it was stock quite docile but it was still fun. That thing rips pretty good for a little 200 cc motor what do you have on it besides the pipe? and what kind of pipe is it. I miss my little 200 X. It’s unfortunate that the price for them now or so through the roof it’s not worth buying it. Check out my 250 R in my channel I just finished it.

The trike is pretty much stock other then then the few usual bolt on performance mods and higher compression piston. The exhaust is a DG header with a universal dirtbike silencer adapted to it. Other than that I’m running a UNI air filter, vented air box lid with UNI vents, and the carb re jetted. It does rip pretty good for a little 200, I love it and it’s one of my favorites! This one needed a lot of work when I picked it up but it had the potential so I put the effort into fixing it back up. The prices are high for these anymore if you get one that’s already done. I wouldn’t have this if it wasn’t for the good deal I got on it. I don’t think I could ever get rid of this 3 wheeler. I had an 85 & 86 350x in the past and sold them, I regret selling the 86 a lot. That’s my other favorite, I’d love to have a 250R though!
