Hey David! I’ve been watching your videos for a while now and this one came in my recommended (even though I have no plans to install a antenna onto my SRX) anyways, I was wondering before you traded your SRX for your XT5, would you have any clue what would be wrong with mine? The past few weeks it’s been making this really loud noise…it almost sounds like road noise, but just super loud inside of the cabin. It’s especially bad once you get around 45+ MPH. I have no clue what the issue is, I wouldn’t think it would be tires since I have a pretty good set of Michelin’s on there with plenty of tread. I have to take it into the dealer next week for it’s 90k mile service, so I’m a little on edge as to what they might find as the issue. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

wheel hub/bearing - VERY common on the SRX. I replaced all mine at least once, some twice in my 7 years with the vehicle

@@DavidWaltermyer All the research on the Cadillac Forums I did pointed me to that. Glad you’re here to confirm it though! Fortunately BUT unfortunately my car is currently at 89,500 miles, the extended warranty ends at 90k, wondering if it’ll cover it….going to make a claim and see that happens because from what I read it’s not the cheapest thing in the world. Looking like the cheaper option all the way around may be to just upgrade to a 2018-2019 XT5 with low miles & and extended warranty!😆

@@taimurray04 the part isn't bad. Less than $150 for an OEM one if memory serves me correct. The hassle is figuring out which one is making the noise, as they fail in such a way that it's obvious going down the road, but very difficult to determine using normal methods when jacked up. Replacement isn't too bad if you are handy. If it's under warranty I'd 100% take advantage of that though!

@@DavidWaltermyer That is cheaper than I expected! Unfortunately, the most I’m comfortable doing is changing wipers & air filters on my car so I think I’ll be taking advantage of the warranty one last time! 😅Called the dealer yesterday evening and convinced them to squeeze me in for tomorrow (now today). I will let them know what I think the problem is because as you have mentioned in the past with other stuff sometimes it’s best when you know MORE than the dealership about the issue! Looking into an XT5 will definitely more of an option now that my SRX is getting older and more higher mileage. Anyways, wish me luck! Hopefully they just replace all 4 and we can be done with it!

Would you recommend buying a Cadillac SRX? Did you have any major issues with yours? My friend is selling a 2011 SRX with 61,000 miles for about $10,000. I can do basic repairs, there does not seem to be many videos with the SRX. Coming from a BMW e39 540 there was unlimited info/videos which helped greatly with repairs. Thanks, great videos.

purchased a 2011 SRX 4 with 37,000 miles from a friend in 2021. It was his mothers who passed and never drove. With the AWD it's a beast in the snow. The only two issues I've had was the rear hatch malfunction not wanting to automatic open. Cadillac wanted $700 to replace the rear hatch latch and not totally sure that would fix the problem. I said no thanks did some research and started replacing the cheapest parts first such as the two hatch struts, one was cheap the other was a hydraulic strut fed by a hydraulic fluid reservoir near the spar tire. Still did not fix the problem, so I replaced the latch which was very easy to replace and problem solved. I first tried an aftermarket latch through Amazon which failed after several uses. I ended up using a GM part which fixed it. The other issue was the ABS brake unit went out and I just had a local repair garage deal with it. Other than the two issues it's been a great SUV with now 61,000 miles on it.

Cuase I've just had my friend order me one for my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee in black color on Aug, 20th. And thay said it will take 1 to 2 weeks and then thay ship it out and it will take 3 to 5 Business days to come to him and then he'll help me put it on for me. Will I have to have a case open on them or will it still come like thay say it will and there will be no problem? Trying to e-mail them days ago never anything back and it's crap that thay don't have a customer service number to call and talk to a person at all just e-mail and nothing comes back after doing that. So what should I expect from them?

Here's my review i left for them a couple years ago: "Placed order on 7/23/19, got automated order confirmation email. emailed sales@visualgarage.com 8/7/19 requesting a status as it had been over two weeks with no update. Never got a response. Contacted them again 8/12/19, this time via their website, no response. Opened PayPal dispute 8/14/19. No response. It's now 8/16/19 and Zero communication, and no product. Really wanted this, but really disappointed. It's not hard to simply reply to an email. Avoid this company." It did eventually show up (finally magically shipped after I left this review).

Hey. Thanks for the reply back! I've e-mailed them a week ago and never heard anything back from them and then magically I check my e-mail box and thay sent me an e-mail and it was a sales rep Frank who said sorry about the late reply back and he said it will be shipped out within 2 weeks and 3 to 5 days to ship by usps mail. And he said once it shipped out thay will send me the tracking number. Even thoe it was not me who orderd it it was my friend who's going to help me out it on my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee so I said can u also send me the tracking number to so I whould not have to bother my friend when he's working cause I'm so excited and anxious to get this for my Jeep so I whould be the one who's always going to be tracking it all the time. So now I'm going to be waiting for his reply back soon. But it was a shock that I got any reply back! But strange that there's no customer service number to call just e-mail.

Hey David. I hope ur still enjoying your shark fin antenna after so mush time trying to get it. I wanted to tell u that my friend who ordered it on Aug ,20th on Friday 2021 he got it in yesterday on Aug ,30 Monday 2021 and he took a pic of it to show me it and it looked great! It has the sparkle on it that my Jeep has and it's the right same color of my Jeep not to close not all most the right color! But it was funny that when I was e-mailing this guy Frank from customer service rep from there I asked him if he chould e-mail me the tracking number and let me know what's going on with it now like updates on the process of it. So he said he needed my friend's e-mail or order number for him to forward the tracking number to me and I said I can't give that info to him. So then he said if I can give him the color code of my Jeep to him and he said he can find out what's going on with it and maybe send me the tracking number of it. So I e-mailed him the color code and never heard back from him again! The funny thing is David is that he told me it whould take up to 2 weeks for it tobe done and then 3 to 5 days to ship out. But I got it within a week later witch is great! But the point is that if it was already done and shipped out he should have told me atleace. And say sometimes it may just take a week to a few days to do and then ship out. It's like thay go by the old info no matter what to tell people. Thay should be up to date on there Products and the process of getting them done and then shipping. And if I was not the one who ordered it atleace u can FORWORD info to me about it and what's going on with it. Like info on it and get back to ur customers right away don't leave them hanging! Thay should have a customer service number to call not just an e-mail to e-mail them and to have them call u. Ur paying for a product u should be able to get the info on it and call them when u want to to find out stuff or to even order it to not just online. Thay have to fix a lot on there side of the woods! But on my side I'm happy that it came in sooner then 2 weeks as thay said but just in a week it came and once it's on my Jeep I'm going to enjoy the style of it and hear how my reception of my FM and GPS will work now even mush better! Plus now I will be able to cover my Jeep with the mopar cover I got now and never let weather or anyone touch my Jeep ever again! Thanks again for ur info on everything from ur side of the woods!

Did u get it from the time thay said u whould get it? Or did u have to wait longer until u had to open up a case on them for them to send it out to u and then u got it?

Took about a month. Had to open a case. Zero communication from them. I emailed them also with a question and never got a reply and will look elsewhere for a shark fin. Customer service is number one in my book for folks that want my money. I cannot stand being ignored, ESPECIALLY when they have my money.
