In this video Greg is back in the shop with a 2010 Ford Expedition that is in desperate need of some suspension repairs. The owner of this Expedition is experiencing poor ride quality specifically lack of suspension rebound. Upon further inspection Greg finds that both the front and rear struts on this vehicle are worn out and need to be replaced. To remedy the issue Greg is installing a set of Monroe Quick Struts front and rear. These Monroe Quick Struts come preassembled in one easy to install package and they don't require any special tools to get them installed.
The job started out straight forward, replace the front and rear struts and the truck is fixed! Well serious corrosion on the original suspension components forced Greg to replace the upper control arms as well as the sway bar links. For those items Greg turned to Moog for fully assembled upper control arms and serviceable sway bar end links.
Even though this job required a few extra parts this is still a job that you can do in your own garage on a weekend. So if your Ford Expedition is long overdue for some suspension maintenance watch as Greg shows you step by step how to get the job done and your truck riding like its brand new.

What of the ball joint was the issue, it was knocked loose from the knuckle?

Ah yes the upper ball joint spinning. Since the ends of the threads get rusty, you need to melt the plastic from the jam nut and then the nut will come right off. Ford sells the nuts in bags of 4 for this reason so you can replace the tie rod ones while your at it... Same for stabilizer link. Melt away all plastic from lock nuts and replace. I did these same struts on my 11 119" and front sits a little higher.

CARiD Me too. All the Overlanding builders are buying up all the used Suburban’s now. Getting harder to find the LS 4x4s now. RCV makes CV axles for the 1500s now. :)
