Do yourself a favor before removing the main fuel line make sure that there is no pressure in the line the best way to do this is remove the relay from the fuel pump keep the car running until runs out of gas until it runs out of gas or else you will be taking a shower with fuel from that line

You are correct. Although there was no pressure in the line when I disconnected it its definitely better to be safe and relieve any residual fuel under pressure in the line. good point.

About 2.5 - 3 hours not including the time it took to lift the car and get it on jack stands.

I have a P0499 code which is the vent solenoid on my Acadia. Looks like I'm going to have to drop the fuel tank.

purge solenoid went on my Acadia as well. you don't need to drop the tank to repair it solenoid. it readily accessible adjacent to the front and right side of the valve cover. problem presented it self as the car wouldn't start after you filled it with fuel. it would take about 5 - 10 minutes for the fuel vapors to dissipate before the vehicle would start.

Purge solenoid and Vent solenoid are two different parts. Purge solenoid is located under the hood. Vent solenoid is under the vehicle.

@@jwcmwaa yes sir. That's 100% correct. I just changed the puge valve solenoid it didn't help my check engine light is back. Do you know where the valve canister is located on these 2012 GMC Acadia? Lmk please. Thanks

@@tonykari5124 Unfortunately they are on top of the gas tank. You have to drop the tank to get to it. Sometimes that turns out to not really be the problem as well. Not sure about your year but underneath the driver side of my 2007 is a fuel harness that is plugged in. The wires in this harness were broken and frayed which caused my check engine code. Repaired the wires and no Check Engine light since.

The high pressure fuel pump is in the engine bay. This vehicle has a 2 part fuel pump system.

what stupid design same like in jaguar when in bmw you can reamove back seat and remove fuel pump!
