He was born on July 28, 1997 and this tournament started on August 28, 2010 so by western dating he turned 13 a month before the start of the tournament. In Korea everyone starts at age 1 rather than age 0. And every adds a year to their age on New Year's Day. So from January 1, 2010 to July 27, 1997 Maru's Koran age would have been 2 years older than his western age, but at the time of this match he was only 1 year older.
