Well dang! My engine light came on. I was thinking that it needed a fuel injector, as well as an air filter, which was dirty by the way. I’ve just ordered that. I’ve changed the oil, and everything. For some reason, I didn’t think about the dang coolant lol. I feel like a dork now. That’s what my girl was trying to tell me. She needed coolant. Great video.

The intention of this video is to show you by removing the seat how much easier a time you will have without dumping coolant all over the place. If you need exact step by step buy a service manual.

Why do you have to drain the reservoir before taking off the radiator cap if you've already drained the radiator?
@rubytheelite2 жыл бұрын
That's a good point. Had a brain fart that day! No excuses. I guess my main point of the video was to remove the seat to get to the cap. Not like the other videos on KZbin I saw before I made this video. Your correct though!!

Does Honda still sell this coolant? My reservoir is low.

Thanks for the video, question what’s your top speed on this? I have one with 9000 miles, tires are correct size and pressure, new air filter runs great, however it will absolutely not go any faster than 45mph. My friend is small only weighing about 130lbs and it goes the same speed with them on it. I may be wrong but I thought it would at least hit 50mph.

After draining the radiator, why not just crack/remove the radiator cap - fluid from the overflow bottle will drain down through the radiator. I see no reason to pinch and the remove the overflow drain hose.
@rubytheelite Жыл бұрын
I do see a good reason. I pinched the tube and side drained the coolant because it looked nasty in the reservoir. I didn't see any reason to send that coolant through the system if I didn't have to.

@rubytheelite Fair enough but if there is oil in the coolant reservoir, you've got bigger issues and, in theory, anything in the reservoir is slowly cycling in and out of the engine with each heat/cooldown cycle. I did not remove the rear rack and seat bucket as you did/suggested (because I'm lazy and saw no need for it) - draining the reservoir by cracking the cap was painless and filling the radiator with a funnel with an attached hose from the side equally painless. As far as spiling a few drops of coolant, my garden hose dispatched that quickly enough (which I'd do anyway). All that said, thanks for the video and removing everything is a fine solution too.

@scotttaggart I shouldn't answer these when I'm tired...Of course I miss quoted and said oil when I meant coolant.

The people you ran down at least showed us how they did it. You showed nothing, just talked. Do it again and demonstrate. Getting all the air out was the hard part. Need some demonstration for that.

Sorry you feel that way Tommy. Getting the air out was very simple. I would suggest you purchase a service manual. And of course....If you don't like my content then don't watch it or subscribe. Could care less if you do.
