Fantastic, another 990 video for my 990 collection. The best bike I've ever ridden.

👍 Thank you so much! Your step-by-step instructions encouraged me to give it a try and I could fix my speedometer by following your description! I had to dismantle and clean it up twice, because the first attempt made it better but as soon as the vibrations came in, the numbers disappeared again. At the second try I also used some hot glue to fix it and it worked well during the first test ride - including the HU (like MOT in UK). All in all ca. 4hrs of work which saved me 574€. That's what the spare part costs here today. Should we ever meet in real life, be sure that a drink or two are on me! Thanks again!

This is VERY helpful as i've an idea to dismantling my speedo to put some silicone sealant on the top to help it be a little morr waterproof as it's annoying that there's condensation and it seems my led has dimmed out too and waa thinking if i could do that? Would really love to be able to change it to white or something! I think some leds have failed inside the screen

I think i have a problem in temperature display Can you help with locating the right part to fix in the dash please ?

my question, the speedometer has no stop on the needle, how should it know where the needle has to be ? in the video in idle it was off about 1k rpm ? you say it should adjust the needle at this point but it goes straight back to the wonky state you mounted it to ?? about 1cm off to the right
@SUPSGARAGE Жыл бұрын
You have a very good point brother, I never noticed that lol it would be best to leave the needle on the little dot to be it back to its original spot. Good eye!

I took about 3 trys for it it was always off to the right. I cycled the tacho and put the needle on while its powered on the last try it cycled perfectly to 12k and back to center

my cluster doesn't light up at all, no power. Have checked the main fuses but they are fine, any ideas other than a fried chip on the board?

Could a guy pay you to fix the speedo on 2013 990. Exactly same problems as you showed tapping it makes it work again.

I could send you just display.

@chrispederson4157 would have to have the bike too if I did to verify it works brother 😔

Could you just plug into your bike to test it? Just a idea.@@SUPSGARAGE

@chrispederson4157 I would not have mind doing that but the bike on the video was not mine

I added a battery tender tail to the battery, and somehow “Fried” the speedometer. Bike still runs, the display backlight still lights up, but there are NO numbers and NO movement in the tach needle. Maybe I just blew a fuse somewhere? Regardless I’ll be watching this video for pointers.

Update, blown fuse on fuse #6 which goes to the instrument panel. Fixed.

Where was that fuse located and what year? My 2014 Duke 690 cluster still lights up but doesn't show speed or rpm or any of the menus! I'm about at my last straw with my cluster and having throttle position issues codes p2103 and p2136

@@briggsharmon2774Did you manage to fix it? I seem to have the same problem with my ktm 990 smt sadly
