In this tour I feature the 2010 Nissan Altima 3.5SR Sedan in "Tuscan Sun" with a Blonde (Tan) interior. The Altima has been one of Nissan's most popular cars on the market today. The Altima competes in a vast catagory of entry level mid-size cars with models like the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Ford Fusion, and lately, the 2011 Hyundai Sonata. Throughout the years, it's undergone some redesigns, some of which became quite radical in some aspects. This latest design uses essentially the same format as the previous 2009 model, but with minor changes such as a slightly reshaped grill, headlights and new trim levels such as the SR, shown here. The interior is roomy with plenty of space for 4 or 5 people. The leather seats in this particular Altima SR are plush, but not too soft, and not too firm either. All the buttons are within reach and easy to access for things like the radio, windows, door locks, and sunroof. For power, the standard Altima and Altima Coupe feature a choice of 2 engines. The first of which is a 2.5L I4 (S, SE, and SR trims are available), and a 3.5L VQ35DE V6 that knocks out 270 hp and 258 lb/ft. of torque (also available in S, SE, and SR trims). Before 2010, you had a choice of a 6 speed Xitronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) or a traditional 6 speed manual transmission as an option. For 2010, however, Nissan canceled the option of having the manual, so now the CVT is the only transmission available in both the sedan and coupe. All in all, the 2010 and 2011 Nissan Altima and Altima Coupe are well-designed pieces of engineering that should be as popular as they are now for years to come.
