It was pretty cool meeting so many people from close to home while I was stationed in California. I was really worried I wasn't gonna enjoy it because I was going alone but I was wrong. There were thousands of people to high five. Felt like home really. Great experience. Ducks fans were kind of obnoxious dickheds

Obviously I’m biased but that’s a half truth. They lost some big games- Boise State, this game, Auburn, LSU, but they also won two rose bowls (one of them a playoff game against a team on a 29 game winning streak) and a fiesta bowl as well as defeating a very good Michigan state team during the 2009-2014 time span.

This was such a fun game to go to, even if the stadium itself is an absolute dump. I took my dad to this Rose Bowl game, and one the walk over to the stadium ran into a former coworker whom I hadn't see in years who was taking her dad too! As a lifelong OSU fan he was thrilled to finally see a Rose Bowl live. We were a little surprised at how many Oregon fans felt like they were going to win this game handily. I figured they just listened to the yokels on ESPN who loved to dump on OSU back then. One thing that really surprised me when I saw the Oregon team up close - our seats were in the 11th row right next to the tunnel where the teams came out - they were so small. I don't think I had ever seen a major college football team that was made up of so many small guys, at least relative to OSU's players. And in typical Tressell fashion, the final score was closer than the game.

Interesting to see the end of the first season of the Chip Kelly era, and the tail end of the Jim Tressel era. Oregon did not have as easy sledding during bowl games due to all the TV timeouts stalling the hurry up, and teams having an extended amount of time to prepare. Yet within 5 years, 30+ percent of college teams were running a hurry-up spread style offense. Masoli and Oregon's OL were the obvious weak links in this game, and the Blount fumble killed their chances. Contrast in talent here as well - Oregon's last 4 classes prior to this season were ranked #19, #11, #49 and #28. Ohio State's were ranked #4, #15, #12 and #12.

@@zatchg1212 I guess my point would be that "couldn't throw worth a damn" is not an accurate statement. He was not the best passing QB ever to play for tOSU, no doubt, but he was not the worst either. I shudder to think how bad we would have been if he had chosen PSU instead of OSU...
