If only dongyi were queen in real history of korea,then i think she might be a great one,coz she raised a one great and finest king of joseon dynasty and the longest who reigned.

No doubt, she will or maybe guaranteed to become the best queen ever. But since Confucianism monarchy really take "classes" thing seriously, it would be difficult to make her Queen. Even though many people and even the king itself willing to, but still its far from possible to do so. But nonetheless, Dong Yi is by far the first Consort in Joseon Dynasty who get -Bin rank as title(Royal Noble Consort Rank 1) followed by "Suk", meaning pure. Even though her background was from lowest servant, her heart and spirit was beyond imagination. Thats why she is very popular among people. Her story isnt just ordinary story, its complete wholesome story. I still saving some of money to visit her tomb's, i need to give my best regards to her. And say thank you for her struggle during her life as Royal Consort.

Even if she's not a queen, her grave is built to resemble a queen😭😭 I don't remember what's the name but prince yeoning work so hard to bestow dongyi a queen title when she passed away 🥺

@@daewongi3451 i think she was buried along side concubines who didn’t achieved the status of Queen but their sons did became King, they were Birth Mothers to a Joseon King

I think that Dong Yi was definitely great but she can be dwarfed by Dae Jang Geum, another extraordinary Josean female historical figure.

Exactly 💯 💯 💯 💯 Everything started with her brother. Lady Jang even helped Dong Yi escape when she was a little girl. She's not evil in her heart, but the people around her really influenced her evil actions.

Nope concubine or the queen should not get jealous because its in the law that the king are allowed to have many woman as he wish. It's her fault she taught she own the king.

If king just had one wife, royal sucession in danger. Medical treatment as not good as nowadays. Mortality rate among child was very high, even in high-ranked family. In addition, infertility also became problem.
