for clarification, the 2 separate ball joints he is referring to are the non sport suspension, and the sport suspension. 54530-3S100 - this is the sport suspension with the curve before the ball joint. This is for cars build after 08/2010 54530-3S000 - this one is the non-sport, the one he is using in the video. This is for cars built before 08/2010 You can search the model numbers on google images to see the curve I am talking about. These part numbers are from 2011 hyundai sonata, I am sure they are interchangeable with other years but double check.

Don't beat your wrench with a hammer on the two underside nuts. Use a breaker bar. Soak all of the rust nuts and bolts with PB Blaster and they'll com out much easier.

Easy fix using the correct tools, time and skills. There is no need to remove the control arms when replacing the ball joint, that's my observation.....

Make work project by removing control arms. Not necessary. Did mine at home about 15 mins per side.

My 2012 GLS have a different shape of control arm. The shape is for a Sport Suspension. I recently replaced both front stabilizer links using OEM parts from a parts dealer from Korea. I may have to check from the dealer of the correct part number for the ball joint (passenger side) as I can now hear some thud noise when going over road cracks and/or bumps while going straight at a certain speed (10 to 20kph), however, I don't heare any knocks when the wheel is pointed either left or right while going over bumps. I also suspect that my control arm bushing is starting to go. Need to lift my car again to check them to be certain.

What were the symptoms for this ball joint needing to be done did this cause loose steering I have the same car and have loose steering I did tie rods and struts already im hopeing it's the ball joints and not the rack

65 lbs for the single bolt no spec fir other 3 on ball joint

Would have liked it if he didnt take off the lower control arm and used reg tools and also showed torque specs on the bolts
