2016 Chevy Malibu La 1.5 code that’s coming up is p0700 Tcm! Car starts revving high rpm’s but barely shifting, so we pull over for about 20 minutes to let the car cool off and then start it back up! Car runs fine for about 15 minutes then starts back to the high rpm’s and slow shifting!! I’m reading on a lot of forums for Chevy Malibus that this problem is common! Our car only has 56,000 miles on it! Thanks!!

yes it is a common problem many different things that cause it from bad connections to bad modules you really need a oscilloscope to tell if its communicating

change fluid and filter if possible and bleed gears once all done hopefully that helps i had the same issue once your fluid heats up it wont work

i literally just went an had a fight to get the plug off .....didnt get to remove it but the car is working fine now😂😂😂 i still want to check an clean it tho

2020 malibu will shift, but doesn't seem to catch the different shifter positions!! Cable moves on transmission when using the shifter! Cose was for tcm , should i clean that plug you mentioned??

yo Gary whats the Secret of getting the wiring harness out of the Left Fender of a 11' Malibu. i see the cable runs under the Fuse cake in the car. and the outer side runs the wires to everything else along the front to the passenger side Light.

Where did you get the wiring diagrams? Is the TCM for a 2010 Malibu also inside the transmission? And engine PCM nearer the passenger front of car?

i have 2012 buick regal 2.0t with this issue and cleaned that same connector to the TCM everything seems to work (it wouldnt let me shift it outa park with code U0101) i believe its a 6t45 trans

Clean out the transmission fluid in the connector with brake cleaner transmission fluid is electricity conductive

What were the issues by chance? I have 2013, had all sorts of issues, stabilatrak, brake assist, traction conteol, door locks pop, gauges in and out, then staryed losing transmission function, like a sno mobile starting, then afyer parking, no start. Had at mechanics several times, no real find, reset codes get back ran fine then again happened. Rhis last time they pulled every harness apart and checked, disconnected battery, checked all harnesses etc. Knock on wood, but nonissue in 2 weeks. Impala 3.6. Any issue you ever dealt with? So curious and puzzled.

My 2010 Impala with 62k miles has the Exact same Issues.. Finally took it to the dealership and the said it needed a new Starter for the No Crank No Start issue and replaced the Very Loose Neg Battery COnnector for all the Warnings, Chimes, Locks and Gauges going nuts. 2 Days Later, No Crank No Start.. Thet have had it for 10 days and Cant recreate the No Crank No Start but The Dash Crazienest came back twice. But each time they started the Diagnose it went back to no issues.. Is yours still working?

@@danthefisherman4793 hi Dan, all I can say is I'm not a mechanic, but its definitely an electrical issue, dont take to the dealer, they will rape your bank account. If you don't have an reliable local mechanic, find one, or an auto electric expert. On my 2013 under the hood, the main electrical box in front seemed to be the root of the issue, but so much is coming g and going, the time, the modules, and wiring seems to have a bug in that general area. There was lime 6 codes that came up. My mechanic literally disconnected every connection, battery terminals etc that they could, they had for several days, I luckily had extra vehicle, they used electrical grease/ lube and went through every reachable connector. Again, knock on wood, but no issue but 1 time, I had traction control light pop on as I backed in a drive and engine light appeared, I immediately turned off traction control and it went away, that was 2 1/2 months ago

hey there gary I have a 2014 chevy sonic ltz 1.4l turbo and I have the same issue now just use brake cleaner on the connection it's got the little ecotech in it

I was thinking that plug was like, impossible to get off without breaking it… but I actULE hav Bn rong here & there - EvN picture of it disassembled helps(me not to brake it maybe anyway), thNx, Ql😯.. btw many a supposed thousand+ $ repair I have fixd from noticing a bad, wEk ground connection - things that looks like 10 differant 2-3-500$ repairs, fixed just like that 👍..
