Thank you for posting this! I love how she creates* Absolute genius. This song I adore especially-so beautiful how Grimes/Claire Boucher works her magic-it is just awe-striking. You can see the true passion of artist pouring out of her. I grew up dancing to my friends making beats which was fun and amazing but I definitely wish Grimes's music was around back then. Her voice, sound effects, looping, beats-they're all presented in a saavy, distinct, and arresting way. The first time I watched a performance of her via KEXP several songs- I was hooked. I could feel the sounds-at a particularly eventful time in my life. I would say it somehow connected to some of those moments. I look forward to catching new awesome moments while hearing her stuff. I am pretty sure that's an sp404 to trigger the different tracks, although she has said in her most recent vids (in past few days) that it's quite unreliable way to perform live and she doesn't recommend it... But I want one anyways, I think this style of performing is iconic

Signalling to the person operating the mixing desk/engineer to turn up the sound of the keyboard in the mix. I think so, anyway. Quite common practice when artists play live -- theoretically it all should be ironed out in the sound check beforehand, but it happens all the time. Sometimes people use gestures or they actually say what they want into the mic. Obviously it's easier to gesture rather than break out mid-song to ask for the mix to be adjusted
