If denman doesn't want to do the breeders cup. Please get this guy, he is an awesome announcer. So much personality.

After being beaten in this race a year earlier by Debussy, I knew Gio Ponti wouldn't beat Cape Blanco in the Man O'War Stakes or here in the Arlington Million. The biggest reason being that Debussy was a G3 horse at best in Europe, Cape Blanco was a legit G1 winning horse on turf at 10F and at 12F in Europe before he ever came to the states, and lest we forget, trained by arguably as good of a trainer as there is anywhere in the world in Aidan O'Brien. Cape Blanco's 3YO season in 2010 had been very productive. He' won the G1 Irish Derby at the Curragh, followed by a 2nd in the G1 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot at 12F. But it was his win at Leopardstown over 10F in the G1 Irish Champion Stakes that set the stage for him in America. 3 weeks after Rip Van Winkle & Twice Over had finished 1st & 2nd respectively in the G1 Juddmonte International beating a deep field that day at York, the two would line up to face each other again at Leopardstown. Off of his win in the JIS, Rip Van Winkle would go off the 8-11 on favorite in the Irish Champion Stakes with Juddmonte's Twice Over who'd finished 2nd, beaten a half-length by RVW at York was the 7-2 second choice. After finishing 1-2 against a deep field at York, it was thought by most punters one of the two would almost certainly prevail in the Irish Champion Stakes, but somebody forgot to give Cape Blanco the memo, as he broke and went straight to the lead and never looked back. He galloped Rip Van Winkle & Twice Over both absolutely bowlegged that day at Leopardstown, cruising home an easy 5-1/2 length winner in really impressive style.

So pleased Cape Blanco has won another G1. My favourite flat horse. How badly was Hayley caught napping there by the way?

Gio Ponti was well beaten again. Three times hes met Cape Blanco and three times hes seen his arse. Great advert for European racing with Stacelita winning on the card aswell. Hope Cape Blanco goes for the Cox Plate now....

What a right poor ride by Hayley Turner there ! Sitting with a handfull of horse in a sweet position. Should of course have went with Cape Blanco when Spencer made his move on the bend. Instead, her inactivity caused her to be boxed in with no clear run until the final 200 yds when Wigmore flew home. An amateurish ride.

Hes such a consistent horse that you wonder why he just throws in the odd bad run.I think the horse will continue in the usa as obrien has loads of other horses for his distance in europe with so you think and the likes.I would imagine he will stand at coolmores american stud and with treasure beach winning also obrien is on a roll before york.Treasure beachs run suggests that seville must be a fast improving horse and he could be along with await the dawn obriens two best end of season horses.

John Dooley is the best in the game for my money, but he's just one of several who would be better than Denman.

@GBeret83 Ain't that the truth. Balleydoyle must be fairly pleased with the way the season is tracking so far. If you forgive the blip in the Prince of Wales. On another matter Darley resumed their Slipper winner from last season Sepoy yesterday. He looks something out of the hat and could meet Black Caviar in the Patinack Stakes in the spring. There is some absolutely mouth-watering racing coming up.

Thanks for adding to my point! "GP doesnt have the legs he use to". Exactly, then have him closer to the lead and hit the gas sooner. He closes everytime like a machine. But hes to far behind to win. Its time to change the way he is ridden. It has been proven in the last three races of his.

Was he about to say at the very End, "Jamie Spencer and Cape Blanco for England ??" We have a name for him in Ireland !!!!!!!!, And thats a "Langer"

Dude, this is the third race in a row where Dominguez has blown the ride of Gio Ponti, he got to far behind in the previous two and hit the gas to late. Now he gets stuck on the inside with no room to run. Time to change riders.

sorry Hayley your a fantastic rider.... but bad day at the office me thinks....wigmore hall finshed like a train as soon as he was in the clear, could have been a lot closer, especially given the charmed trip on the rail.

Thought Gio Pointi was given a remarkably easy race, terrible ride, but seemed Cape Blanco still had plenty and doesn't prefer softer.

Yeah a 3rd rate group 3 horse lost to your 2nd rate horse, our Group 1 horses are miles apart on the turf! Proves it when the failures from the UK head over and clean up your group races. i.e. Cheetah, couldn't win a listed race here, won G3 RD Dick memorial. Fantasia, who did well over here G3 winner has won a G3 and come close in G1's in US. Prime example Cambina, couldn't win a bog standard irish handicap and won your Hollywood Oaks, British turf racing is miles superior at the present time!
