I have a db9 Le Mans edition, limited to 124 units worldwide. It's amazing how much care Aston takes, my cars final inspection was also done by Barry Griffin. It just goes to show how specialised Aston is as only a very selected few will ever get to build them, and even fewer will ever sign off on them.

well, I came into some money a few years ago and I looked to fulfil one item on my bucket list: drive a DB9...I looked into renting one for a weekend...can you say close to $10,000.00?? If I remember it was something $2000 per day rental, $800 per day for insurance....and the deductible was insane...I think it was a $10,000.00 deductible so ONE door ding and I was toast......plus CDN taxes of 13.5 %. The killer was if you picked it up at 5 on Friday, that counted as day 1.... So I looked into buying a used one, keeping it for a month then re-selling it....(would have lost about the same $$)...so didn't do it..... But I did knock one other item off the bucket list...bought a Harley Davidson Nightster hehehe.....

I couldn't agree more about the whole top speed issue. It's like "I have a supercar that does 198 mph"..."Your car isn't a supercar because it doesn't break 200 mph barrier but mine IS a supercar and it does 202 mph"..."Oh yeah, well I have a hypercar that does 218 mph and 0-60 in 2.5 seconds"...."That's not a supercar, it's a GT car because it's engine is in the front and neither is his 200 mph Bentley because it's a saloon car". I'm mean seriously...give me a break. Their all pretty freaking super if you ask me. And so is the hand welded aluminum bodied, hand built, 186 mph Rolls Royce Phantom. I'd be stoked to get any of them...even a older one from like 2004-2006. Many of them still look the same as the newest model year (usually each model runs for about 8-13 years with highend luxury automobiles) and in many cases they look better than the newest body style.

@ColumbusExoticCars it lasted 18 months. It was discontinued because the distinction between it, the db9, and DBS wasn't that large. While the idea was good the "in the middle" idea was too literal.

Everyone has their own opinion but Bentleys are always known as the better looking cars. Though both cars have different styles (Aston Martin is sportier in design while Bentley has more class in their design) The interiors of the Bentley are a clear winner.

Of course it is... but most Astons aren't about the hp you can get for your money. It has more than enough power, but if you need a race car like that GTR would be, you can get a DBS. The GTR is an amazing car when it comes to performance, but the Aston is just in a completely different class.

@9:43 It does not hold its value that good. You can get it for less than 120 grand with less than 50,000 km on milleage. The running costs are still steep because it is a luxury car. =) @10:16 350lb is not heavy for an American anymore. It is the current year, ya know. :D

I have a Nissan GT-R, but doesn't mean I always have to drive fast. I know you can't afford this car and a Nissan GT-R. You probably can't even afford a Nissan Altima, lmao. The GT-R is a car that's more in touch with the general public as far as being attainable. It's fast and it has a class of its own. It's just a better value than these other more pricey cars that most people would never be able to buy or even rent for that matter, lmao.

I love aston martins, but I think that 490HP form a 6.0L V12 engine isn't enough. If you look at the BMW M5, they get 565HP form a V8 biturbo. I know, it has 3 turbo's but still. I think that this car needs 575 or 600HP, not 490.

He loves Aston Martin but the problem with this model is they also make the DBS and it's better, and only the best will do. Also the transparent tail lights look like they're cheap after market add ons from Halfords.

I didn't particularly care for the color. I thought it was a bit too ostentatious. My preference would be something a little more subtle which most would call boring. I always thought Astons were so cool because they weren't as shouty as their Italian rivals.

The HandBuild plaque has the name of the inspection guy not the one who build the engine, that's the case in AMG's Mercedes-Benz, and those gauges not very good, maybe pretty but when they go they're crooked, one goes clockwise the other anti, interesting but not very useful That was a lazy burnout like a 120hp automatic car, and then it shifted to 2nd gear, but it shows in real hw it would be. Of course he should have it in manual and keep a gear that spins the tires.

I was lucky to ger a ride in a Aston Martin DB9 Volante 2006 model last week. It was much faster than you sense on the youtube videos. In my opinion even the DB9 Volante got all the speed you need - and that V 12 motor sounds epic. Halfway the owner let me drive the car back. It´s easy to drive i automatic and the seats are great. I´m a tall guy 1.90 meters. I must say this is my dream car, said by a man who owns a scooter, and who cannot afford a car a the moment ha,ha. But I am allowed to dream, and I hope all of you could get the same oppotunity to ride this wonderful car.

actually, older db9s are selling in the 40-60K range so I still think it is attainable.
