My 2011 E70 35i has 173k miles and still drives like new (only replaced tires and alternator in 3 year ownership). The build quality is all there inside and out.. The issues are always the over engineered engines.

You are 100% right. I always think to myself, if I could do it again, I’d get a 35i or even the diesel. Would’ve been a much happier ownership experience compared to the 50i. Congrats on getting your X5 so far! That’s awesome! Wish you and your X5 many more smooth and trouble free miles 🙏🏾

Dude that’s so crazy you had that episode of it shaking crazy and almost wrecking bc I had a 2011 328xi and it did the same thing you discribed haha with all the warning lights too

Yeah BMW’s are trash lol Mine was bc of hairline cracks on coolant lines that run above the alternator. They began leaking coolant onto the alternator and everything losing power. I still don’t understand the shaking. Maybe electrical components that control stability systems freaking out. It was wild tho. Literally felt like God was holding the car and shaking it. Never experienced something so crazy, violent, and scary in my life. Makes death wobble on lifted cars feel like a joke. Hopefully your BMW is long gone and you’re in something much better and safer like us by now. Take care! 🙌🏾

Just saw a good deal on one of these, and thought I’d better research. Not sure if I should go ahead after watching that!

I didn't realize owning a used or new BMW X5 makes a person "look rich". Owning a nice well kept 7 Series would make a guy "look rich". Course I could be wrong.

Owning any german car new or old makes you look rich. The new ones have big payments and the older ones have big repair bills as you saw in the video haha Even if you do repairs yourself the parts and special tools needed to work on them are pretty expensive! I didn't mean it in any bad way or anything. Just a fun title. Hope you enjoyed the video!

Honestly the only bad thing you seemed to have was the Coolant line problems, all the other stuff like oil flush etc is pretty standard for the this beastly engine. Cant believe you guys pay so much for some line changes tho..damn. I ordered all the items myself for not much at all that + the work total was 800usd for a total refit of all lines. But i never go to the Dealer hehe..Find a BMW mechanic who opened up a shop and went solo. you'll pay like 30% of what you pay the Stealer ;p But really you had close to no "crazy" maintanance. Big part of the bill were you mods + tires/rims hehe.

to me this is more on the side of upgrades if your complaining about making how you want then don't do it....
@SaraiGarage2 жыл бұрын
Upgrades were a minority of the expenses... it was mainly required maintenance.

Bruh, 2 years very few miles, almost the cost of the car just in repairs. That’s some shit

The V6's are pretty solid! The twin turbo V8's are the worst of the bunch (which is what we have). Hopefully all goes well. Goodluck and Congratulations in advance!

Such a beautiful car bmw ruined with plastics. Soo sad. Bmw should have got rid of those plastics long time ago
@SaraiGarage2 жыл бұрын
100% agree. The plastics are what kill this car and all other BMW’s. It’s a shame really.

Not the most reliable BMW engine. '08 to '13 were the worst production years for the N63 until the TÜ came in '14
