This tribute I've returned to more times than I can recall..this wonderful rendition on Whit Friday is why for myself and I'm assuming many others is why Brass Bands just hit the spot! ..something that cant be articulated but it just moves you. Wonderful B&R and Prof.Dave King, a musician of the very finest order, a brass maestro.

I knew Alan, and he would now be beside himself that a fantastic band like Brighouse had played a tribute just for him. What a wonderful and poignant gesture. God bless you Alan.. RIP

The great tune Horsley is played here so marvellously by this fantastic brass band. The playing is just so controlled with full sound throughout. A brass player could have no greater tribute than this. Many thanks to B & R.

Feel a great affinity to this beautifull played tune, as I am distantly related to the composer( WilliamJohn Horsley)

Beautyfull, this Hymn. This is de sound that was the example of Brass contest bands that conductor Sierd de Boer with some fellow conductors in Friesland intruduced from the years from 1950’s on. Friesland had till the years 1990 on the hegemony as top band province of Netherlands.

How well people of a certain age remember this lovely hymn from their school days, before the shackles of 'our' multi-cultural society made it almost anti-social to do so!
