The engine sounds that way because it's revving in perfect intervals (i.e. fourths and fifths)... so weird sounding. At 5:09 you can clear hear a flat D-A-D harmony. I wonder if that's just overtones, and can you hear that when you're driving down the road?

My car is at 35000km and has been to the shop for 9 warranty fixes already.. 2 of them were new transmissions. two fly wheels, cam shaft actuator, mirrors, leaky trunk. I have had this car for one year now. I would suggest just STAYING CLEAR of these cars.. they are cheap for a reason. Don't be tricked by the sleek design or the interior. I have driven both the manual and the automatic, they both have there issues. Manual has bad gear lash, and very rough gear change. The automatic is lurchey and has a really bad delay when you need power. I have tried my car and about 4 other cruzes, all of them had random grinds on start up.

I got a 2014 Cruze i have no issues of the sorts, i know the older ones got recalled for some shit. But the new ones, seem to be just fine..i got the upgraded one with Mylink (love that radio!) It's lazier then my Ford, but yet again that is a 2012 Mustang lol.

My family's Toyota Camry got hit in the bumper and now its getting fixed and we got this as a rental car. It is very nice! The engine shifts a bit weird (not used to 6-speed?) but it's quicker than the Camry when accelerating! It's a LT but has cloth interior and no remote start.

@Matthew55904 Yes, the Lanos might have a 1.6L I4, but remember, it's naturally aspirated, the Cruze is a 1.4L turbocharged. Smaller engine + turbocharger = less emissions, less fuel, same if not better power.
