2011 Chevy Malibu Steering Rack and Pinion Replacement, Easiest Method

Very informative. I might have to do the same. My parents were driving this car and they said the steering got really difficult so I'm assuming power steering assist shut off or something. Strangely enough, the power steering works now but the steering is not what it use to be. It works but just feels like it takes a little more strength than before to turn. I also get a clunking sound from the steering shift where the u joints are so I may replace that while I'm at it.

I actually just found out that there is an electric motor and torque sensor underneath the steering column inside the vehicle. So I may not need to replace the rack and pinion. At least I think :D

Got an alignment because it was pulling to the right. It kept pulling and the mechanics said it wouldn’t hold an alignment after even a little bump. So they figured it was the rack.

@@sumdumguy3741mine is pulling to the left and the mehcanic couldn’t aligned it and the steering wheel is hard to turn to the right side only not hard but kinda
