Thanks Willy. I went and grabbed this same scanner after watching this video. I couldn't find another cheap option to reset my alcohol content and the 3 or 4 scanners I have dont have this option. I think it's pretty cool you can update these but it's getting harder and harder to keep up with the best options to maintain a modern vehicle. Thanks again and I really appreciate you walking through where you found the setting.

We do a ton of these top end kits here to delete it but have used the plug in kits its a must have on this to keep from burning a hole threw your piston your going to love all the new power

I was hoping to deactivate both the AFM and flex fuel but so far all I was able to do was reset the alcohol percentage. Really helped the truck to run better. This is not over yet though. I will find the diagnostic tool or tuner to turn it all off. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!!!

@@DIYWilly diablosport afm disabler you can unplug it from your obd2 port for smog plug it back in after hope this helps Willy

Lots of bells and whistles on that new tool! Looks like it was set to run E-85 when the fuel alcohol level was set high. My scan tool doesn't tell me anything other than the trouble codes.

I’ve been using regular gas since I had the problem with the injectors. I did however run e85 for years except when towing. Not sure if that was the problem? Somehow the computer was confused between the fuel types. The truck has a virtual sensor for the fuel types and something happened. I also have scanner/code readers but I needed this one to reset the alcohol percentage and it worked perfectly. Now I looking to turn off flex fuel and dod/afm. Hope it’s not too late for the afm. More work on the Chevy soon!

@@DIYWilly I checked out the link. That's a sweet scanner for the money. Mine is an elcheapo code reader, yours does lots of stuff. This one may be going in the tool box.

@@KentuckyFriedFixesIt’s bi-directional so it does have some good reset features. Need to figure it all out. Still have to purchase packets for multiple vehicles. The one I bought was for GM but I will buy the Nissan and Toyota software to add to it. Seems to work best of all the ones I’ve tried. There’s still a few things I need to do but it may not do it. And the touch screen is slow.

I've rest my alcohol percentage and it usually stays around that 3.5% but my truck is still running rich. Ive been trying to fix it for about 10 months now. Ive changed my o2 sensors 4 times. Mass air flow sensor twice. Spark plugs 4 or 5 times now. I've tried catalytic converter cleaner. I changed my coil packs, and I'm sure I've done a few other things I'm forgetting at the moment. The truck seems to run perfectly, but i can't get the same rich codes you have to disappear. Long-term fuel trim is around 20% on banks 1 and 2. Let me know if you have any ideas. Any help is greatly appreciated. I bought the same scan tool from Amazon as well and ive used it to reset my alcohol percentage a dozen times now. 4 different shops cojldnt seem to do it, but i figured it out. Thanks for sharing this video.

Hello Robert, Sounds like you have quite the challenge and have address the common causes for the rich codes. The only thing I can think of is the evap system not functioning properly. That will put fuel vapor in the engine that is not really controlled. There is a canister back by the tank and a couple other items that go bad over time. Some people claim you can wash out the evap canister but I’ve never tried it. Also there is an evap purge valve up on the drivers side of the intake. All parts are replaceable. Have you looked at fuel pressure? Or leaking injectors? This would be the only suggestion I have. Hope this helps! Good luck and thanks for watching!!
