Was mystified by an 8amp draw on my 2011 escape battery at no load. The cycling of the current was strange. Watching this put me on the right track. Thanks for putting this up! RL

I purchased my 2009 Ford Escape new and it's been a great vehicle. Thank you for the tip. This is the second time I have seen this occur so it's definitely a known issue and videos like this will help many owners like us in the future. Subscribed and bell rung!

Hello, thank you for this video, I was having this problem for the last 3 days. Just unplugged, it was really hot while the rest of the car was cold. ❤️from 🇨🇦

I purchased a 2010 for daughter, ran good for two years with regular maintenance. Then started having battery issues, this one was doing the same thing rear window wiper draining battery. Who would have thought that, always good trouble shooting.

WOW you just saved me hours of testing everything . Exactly what you said . I could feel the plastic warmer than surroundings popped it off and yup hot to the touch. Disconnected and all good, thanks so much!

Had the same problem on my 2011...it was a mystery. You solved it. The motor on that wiper was hot and it wasn't parked. I still have to take it in to get the back wiper repaired.

I've seen this before on this generation of Escape. Nice job. Hopefully your video will help some people. The old school mechanic spotted the "unparked" wiper, which is not always the case but still the problem. After reading the comments I see this is a pretty common Ford F- up.

My 2014 Ford Escape is having issues with the battery randomly draining I wonder if that’s the problem, I got this vehicle two years ago and I couldn’t figure out what the issue was all the shops I took it to said they didn’t know what it was I’m starting to think that is the issue with my escape

I have the same issue with my 2011 ford escape xlt 4wd 4 liter engine. The window washer stopped working but kept draining power from the battery. I had to pull the fuse on it to stop it.

Hey #Ford Boss Me my 2008 ford escape has an electric issue just like this but we even unplugged the rear wiper motor and it still does the same thing… the car has a battery shut off switch so the battery doesn’t die. What do you think is the issue

Yup...the wiper motor stuck in the middle is a sure sign...You should hear it clicking trying to get into park... Mine was like this and I had to force my wiper down on the swipe back to set it into park...I am surprised you didn't hear the clicking unless it is rock hard locked into place...It does it about every 30 seconds.
@FordBossMe3 жыл бұрын
It won't always click and sometimes it's burned out before you catch it so that's not necessarily the case

any way to to fix the rear motor without replacing? Unplugging it stopped my front window sprayer
@FordBossMe2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately it has to be replaced
@dizzlethewizard2 жыл бұрын
Just a head's up for anyone who wants to just unplug the rear motor, your washer fluid will no longer work with that unplugged.
@Redbeard172 жыл бұрын
is there a fix for that?
@dizzlethewizard2 жыл бұрын
@@Redbeard17 not that I’m aware of other than replacing the motor. You can keep it plugged in while the vehicle is running and unplug it when you shut off the vehicle.

I had a completely dead battery on my 2011 Escape. It only sat for a day and there wasent even enough power to unlock the door with my keypad. After watching this video, I had the exact same problem. I felt around the rear wiper motor and it was vary warm. The wiper hasnt worked in over a year so I just unpluggged it. Hopefully that solves the draw on the battery. Thanks!

I'll check mine. Four thousand dollars later from Nation Ford and I am still watching videos. I have to dump my car if this does not fix it. My cars lights come off and on and something wet gets sprayed into car. Mine is a mess. I have loved this car but my Ford dealer is not so good.
