I grew up in America, played 6 years of football and loved it. Got to college gave rugby a try, now I don't ever know why i messed with the pigskin.

just like to add that most bad injuries in any contact code dont come from normal contact but from freak events like a head clash or you get hit on the wrong angle ,or your leg gets trapped and broken,generally ts just bruising or grazing or winded,sometimes its from dirty play though, like once I dived on a loose ball and a prop kicked me in the jaw I was using a straw to take soup for three days after and he was a cop

Everyone needs to quit comparing American Football and Rugby. They are very different sports. Just because they wear pads, doesn't make them "pussies". They wear pads because they would probably kill each other if they didn't. Rugby tackling and American Football tackling are so different from each other. Unless you've played American Football before, don't call it a pussy sport. Nonetheless, this was an awesome match. Samoa is one of my favorite Rugby sevens teams!
@Kang501 Жыл бұрын
Rugby tackling is how you tackle someone without pads, the only reason those dangerous tackles in the NFL are allowed and tolerable is because of the huge amounts of padding they wear, it’s like an egg, if you drop an egg from the sky it’ll break, so you don’t drop an egg from the sky, but if you use loads of padding and a steady dropping vehicle, then you can drop it from the sky

harder? since when is taking breaks every 10 seconds hard? You have specific players for defense and offence, in rugby you play non stop. Every player needs to be able to take down every player. Football is seriously stupid. Requires next to no communication between team mates as all your actions are given to you on a plate by someone else, in rugby your team is left to their own devises when they take to the field. Also rugby isn't corrupted by money.

Maybe you'd just played Rugby in America!!! If you want to really prove your point and experience real pro Rugby. Come over to Australia or New Zealand. Find some people like the Tongans, Fijian, Samoans, Maoris, Aussies and ask them to have a training sesh. Fuck I doubt you would last 30 minutes in their. A whole'nother level here. 16 -18 years old are already playing like pros.

Yes I have and I have to say that rugby is by far the tougher sport, at least from a physical standpoint. In rugby, you play with minimal breaks for 80 minutes - in football you run for 60 minutes with breaks every play. On any decent rugby team, the big, slower forwards can run just as long as the quick backs. In football, a center or offensive lineman can't run for a couple of minutes without taking a break, let alone keep up with a running back.

now i like rugby and football, but football players wear pads and helmets because its far more physical and dangerous than rugby,
