First time I saw Buddy Hall was in 1972 at Joe Burns Dayton Open in Dayton, Ohio on West Main Street in the basement of the shopping mall. Buddy was in bib overalls with his great beard and no one had ever heard of him, just that he was from the area around Paducah, Kentucky. I have seen all the greats, even Mosconi. No one was better than Buddy Hall.

It's a shame that today's players dont know who Buddy Hall is, sad, Shane and Alex know of course, but younger pros literally have no idea who Hall, Sigel, Varner, Davenport, Rempe, some of the all time greats, and Buddy Hall said that Luther Lassiter is the greatest player that he'd EVER seen, that's saying a lot, Buddy has always been my favorite

That is highly debatable. No doubt BH was a great fine player but there are a lot of others who IMHO were even better. Efren comes to mind for one but the truth is there were maybe a dozen or more players who were as good as Buddy and all of them among the elite. About 10 years ago I saw Buddy in a mid west 9 ball tournament. He was very old, tired, and grossly obese but when he got to the table he knew exactly what he as doing and he did it very well. I saw him lose in that tournament and I think he just didn't have the stamina to compete at that level anymore. But it sure was fun to see him playing no further than 20 feet from where I was watching.

I grew up in Shreveport LA, and grew up around many world class players as well as world champions. Buddy Hall b n one of them. Anyone can have a favorite players or their own opinion of said players. However anyone who speaks nasty or disrespectful of Buddy Hall are truly ignorant when it comes to pocket billiards.

BostonSecret45 Here I am, explaining how to play 9 ball. 9 ball, you have to shoot the balls in numerical order. First the 1, then the 2.... You can combination the 9 ball in, but you have to hit the lowest number ball on the table first.

Kathy Keegan Next match up, Strickland is playing race to 15. That means the winner has to win 15 games, first. I've watched one guy, C J Wiley, run 27 racks in a row playing in a gambling match in Florida. Then he had to drive across the state of Florida from Melbourne, on the Atlantic coast to Tampa, on the Gulf coast. You want to try doing that?

Shane could beat any player from any era with his break.
@godjhaka
@godjhaka 18 күн бұрын
@@jlobiafra Then you never saw Buddy Hall break in its prime. Buddy was putting 2-4 balls down and popping it off the table after each hit in the 70's and 80's. Though SVB did have his prime time pocketing more balls on the break esp in 10ball than Buddy. I would pick Buddy stroke over SVB, and I have the full 3-cue SVB Cuetec lineup customized wraps, engraving and all. But now I emulate Buddy's smooth stroke as no one ever talks about SVB stroke (though it isn't bad) like they do Buddy, they just talk about SVB break (and records... he is the GOAT there. No one can even mention Efren name around SVB or Earl as that's disrespecting SVB and Earl...) Earl and SVB have 5 US opens each, SVB is the only human to ever EXIST to win 3 in a row, and also win 2 world titles in a row. No one can do that not even Efren as he didn't take care of his body like Earl and can't compete anymore. All he does his torture animals for fun (chicken fighting) which is terrible.

hello fellow pool fans & players. i'd like to direct your attention to a comment below written by 'paul kersey', which insults buddy hall & his weight. about one year ago, while watching a you tube video of old school pro wrestling matches from the 70's or 80's, i saw a comment written by this same person insulting andre the giant & his hair. since then, i've seen several comments from this guy, & they are all full of ignorance & hate. he is an unapologetic racist, & clearly didn't get enough hugs when he was young. when i read his insult of a great legend like buddy hall, i felt compelled to reply. he then responded with an epic rant, further exposing the level of his psychosis. i encourage all viewers of this video to reply to paul kersey just to let him know what a truly awful person he is. i know that idiots like him just crave attention, so ignoring him might be the way to go, however, returning the hatred he sends out will piss him off, which is quite satisfying & justified. thank you, take care.
