One other fun story about this car. Any of the drivers who drove the V12 rarely talk about this car since it was, to them, an inferior machine, but quoting Sebastien Bourdais, "The finance guys loved it! Taking away 4 cylinders meant that we were spending 3 to 4 million euros less per season injectors alone!"

Hearing Seb and Simon talk on the Marshall Pruett podcast about this and some of Franck Montagny’s shenanigans was the best.

@@motorsportfan1246 Montagny is definitely an interesting character. I'll just leave it at that.

Awesome to see it in action! I love the Diesel era of Le Mans. This car had major COP issues that were not found in the design because of some sort of error in calculation. It took Nic Minsassian having a spectacular blowover crash at Paul Ricard, clearing the fence, and landing literally on the runway near the track before Peugeot addressed the issue.

I love big diesel engines. Such a shame nobody makes it anymore. Only there was audi sq7 with v8 diesel or Bentley bentayga v8.

The power of FAP... I will never not smile at this car and the way they named its power unit.
