This generation Toyota Avalon is my favorite, especially the facelift. With the rise in popularity of SUVs and electric cars, we most likely won’t see a Toyota like this again.

I got a 2011. Bought it in 2017 with about 83000 miles on it. I now have about 140800 miles on it and it still runs like a top. Doesn't burn any oil at all and hasn't lost a bit of power or anything. I agree the last true Avalon and probably one of the last true Toyotas.

Hello, how many miles it had when you bought it and how often do you change the transmission fluid? I just bought a 2011 limited edition 77k miles one owner owned buy elderly couple they owned it since brand new and now it has 77,000 miles they told me they never change the transmission fluid should I change it?

I have a 2011 Avalon Limited being delivered tomorrow. It has 67k miles and, similar to you, I was like "damn I have to have it." I'm coming from a 2003 Camry LE so this is is hella futuristic to me. While I haven't driven it yet I've done extensive research on Avalons over the last year, and agree that this generation seems to have been the last "Avalon" in that it properly emboldened what you expect of its nameplate. Floaty, smooth, reliable old man car. That said I do think the TRD Avalons are just plain absurd and cool, they're my next target in a few years.

67K miles? Just do all the regular maintenance and that car will last you upwards 400K miles without too many issues. Mine went up to almost 500K miles and still was buttery smooth before someone hit my car.

@@11Wael I bought it when it had 60K miles. You definitely have to change the transmission oil before it reaches 100K miles, otherwise, you can’t change it no more because the metallic is already broke down in the transmission oil. My father’s a mechanic and so I just follow his advice but the same advices are from the internet or online. If I were you, I would change it now at 77K miles. Then change it again at another 75K miles. Those are the proper interval changes of transmission oil on a 2011 Camry. Make sure you change your oil every 5K miles with oil changing your filter if you’re using synthetic oil. For regular oil, change it every 3K miles. Just proper maintenance. Just make sure all your fluids are full. You’ll be surprised what simple maintenance can do on a Camry. Those generations run forever.
@tpp4007

@@11Wael the dealership will always charge you more than a regular mechanic shop. You can take it to any mechanic shop and they’ll be able to do it for you. If you take it to a mechanic shop, I would recommend buying the transmission fluid at the dealership first. It’s actually pretty easy if you know how to do it yourself. It just takes about 15 minutes to drain and fill.

It is a great car with two drawbacks. One is the 14.4 cu/ft size truck, a large car comes with a compact truck size, and the other one is the lack of falling down backseats, which limits its usage to haul long stuff. The car only comes with a small hole on the backseat for long items, almost useless.

25 mpg on the highway is not good since it is rated at 29 mpg. My 02 Camry gets 31-33 mpg on highway, which beats the rated 29 mpg. Yours also comes with 18.5-gallon tank like mine, and you can get 15.5-gallon gas unless something is wrong with yours.

@@abdullah6747 2011 Avalon's high MPG is 29, which is the same as the 2011 Camry v6. No, the Avalon is Camry based and is only 100 lbs heavier than a v6 Camry. Avalon is not a true large sedan like Impala and Taurus, which did not share the platform with Malibu and Fusion.

I have a 2011 Limited that i bought in 2021 with 203k miles. It now has 260xxx. I use it for ride sharing work. So far I've replaced the brake pads and rotor and flush the brake fluid, replaced the top dogbone engine mount because the rubber part is rotting, replaced the HID bulbs because of flickering which I'm guessing is because it has deteriorated. I updated the fogs to LED. The high beam is no go for LED, they flicker, so, i will be going back to a brighter than stock non-LED. Engine and tranny are smooth as butter. Edit: 2011 Avalon is said to produced more than the claimed HP. I read somewhere it has over 280 HP.
