2012 CF-18 Demo - Waterloo Airshow

To embody the theme "The True North Strong and Free", this year's CF18 Demonstration Team will display tail and dorsal art featuring 13 distinctive snowflakes representing Canada's provinces and territories, as well as the 13 Wings across the country. Piloted by Capt. Patrick "Paco" Gobeil.

I was a manager at this air show, which means I was busily running around and not paying attention to the show. I was fine with the noise of the Hornets buzzing around-they never made frightened-but when the pyros went off (as at 8:48), it made me jump every time! haha

For once, we really see the value of fake canopy painting on the bottom of the fuselage. See at 10:30. Pretty convincing.

Well the reason this year's Toronto airshow didn't have a real American presence (only a short flyby from a pair of F-16s) was due to reduced funding by the Pentagon for the USAF demonstration squads. They've had to cut millions, and five of the six USAF teams had their funding slashed.
