I had this problem 2 months after my warranty expired. It cost almost $1000 for the repair as newer FORD parts are very expensive. It was the front passenger side as well. Now I have lost my passenger side wheel hub cap from the heat and need to repair the same caliper problem. The second FORD caliper had the same design or manufacuring flaw. FORD has made many design decisions to specifically make the life of the home mechanic difficult.

Yes, they are typically either aluminum or copper.
